I just noticed a weird problem. Or at least I think it's a problem. Should Chrome really use this much memory, or is this normal? I mean the huge one, I know it splits processes.

Nathilus posted:Yeah, it was the images that caused the massive RAM usage. Each element will continuously take up RAM even in a background tab. As for the shame, I was just kidding. Because you OBVIOUSLY had a hundred image count plus porn thread up, you naughty cretin! Ah, sorry. Wasn't aware if it was tabboo to mention it or something. It would primarily be the preloading, correct? Before this extension had image preloading, stuff loaded normally, now in huge threads like that it gets very sluggish.

I have a weird problem with these forums. Certain threads will just kill a tab. I'll open them, they load, and I can't do anything. No scrolling, mouse icon doesn't change when hovering over a link, nothing. The page locks up completely. However, I can close the tab normally and Chrome continues on it's merry way. This happens extremely infrequently, and the only two threads that come to mind it happens is the Lulzsec thread in GBS from today and one page of the STALKER Call of Pripyat thread in Gaming. I tried them in IE, they work fine. Go to Chrome and disable SALR and Fancier SA Forums, they still lock up. Also, quoting people and previewing posts really screws up urls (the link itself disappears leaving just [url][/url] in its place, and maybe bbcode (I don't post much so I honestly don't remember on that one).

Is anyone else having weird flash performance? It freezes for a second, and stutters any other tab with flash when I am loading something. Related, because I don't know if it uses flash or not, the Falout 3 Nexus (http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/) was loading astoundingly slow and hanging for me today. Chrome 23, Windows 7 64bit

Are there any good Youtube recentering extensions? The I've been using for a long while only centers the video now, but the title, description, and comments are shoved to the left like the newer layout.

Why does Chrome use so much memory? Right now with 4 tabs open (Facebook and 3 forums), I'm at 600MB. That seems a tad ridiculous.

I went from stable to dev, the button was on the far left of my bookmarks bar. I was using the beta... last week or the week before I think? And no button. How long was this in the beta?

Ok, how come I can't install the dev version on my computer? I uninstalled it to try and start it fresh, but even a fresh install says "Chrome is already updated" despite being uninstalled. I just went ahead and installed the beta version. Also after installing my extensions were back again Related, why is my iOS Chrome displaying the wrong computer name? I changed my computer name (on Windows 8), and even after reinstalling both desktop and iOS Chrome it wants to call the desktop one the old name. Syncs just fine, just under the wrong name.

I'm having some weird problems with Chrome lately. Was on the dev build, stuff like my Gmail Checker and Adblock couldn't show context menus (only had a white box), but that went away in an update. Now, when I have two windows open, performance is horrible and choppy. Also, Youtube feels choppy and has tearing issues. Downloading a video and playing it in MPC is fine, but on the site performance is awful. Downgrading to beta Chrome didn't help either. Edit: Huh, disabling hardware acceleration made everything better. Even the browser itself feels snappier. Endymion FRS MK1 fucked around with this message at 19:53 on Nov 4, 2013 |

I just ran into a weird font issue. They just look... strange, I can't put my finger on it. Its really evident on the SA forums list, the underlines seem to far up. Anyone have this issue? It feels like the default font changed or something.

My Chrome won't update on Win 8.1, I get this error "Update failed (error: 7)An error occurred while checking for updates: Google Chrome cannot be updated due to inconsistent Google Update Group Policy settings. Use the Group Policy Editor to set the update policy override for the Google Chrome Binaries application and try again; see http://goo.gl/uJ9gV for details". This happened before and reinstalling Chrome got me to the latest version, but refused to update beyond that. Edit: Quick registry fix worked. Huh. Yeah I've preemptively installed Firefox and got all my bookmarks and extensions copied over in the event I need to dump Chrome. I'm firmly in the Google ecosystem with my Pixel, Nest, and Homes so I'd prefer to stay on Chrome but adblocking > uniformity
