BLORANGE

It's been out for a few months now, but if you're a Mountain Goats fan and haven't yet listened to The Jordan Lake Sessions, get on that immediately. It's a positively joyous reprisal of a broad swathe of the band's work and, as much as I love the lo-fi aesthetic in a lot of the early albums, they're glorious in hi-fi so long as you have a decent set of speakers.

Volumes 1 and 2 are out now, 3 and 4 are recorded and yet to release.

It's a piece of JUNK!

I'm really not into this latest Billie Eilish song, to me it's really bland, and I'm the one who loves Lana Del Rey.

It feels like a deep album cut that got released as a single by mistake. I'm sure people smarter than me have figured out a reason for it though.

Well probably dating myself here but back in the halcyon days of the early 00s amidst a wash of "indietronica" (boy that's a gross word that they eventually spinned into "IDM" ugh) a Norwegian dou of erland oye and sondre lerche had a band that was maybe a tinge late to the "neutral milk hotel / american analog set" party and too early for the "Appleseed cast" post emo slow core drone stuff called "kings of convenience". They split and did side stuff that wasn't bad bit went about as far as Travis Morrison records (read 0.0 on pitchfork).

They got a new record coming out.

It's like sad.norweigan bossa Nova or something. But great on a dreary morning and a hot mug of whatever.

Eirik Boe is the second member rather than Sondre Lerche. You almost blew my mind there.

Yeah that made me prick up my ears as well. I haven't heard anything Sondre Lerche did in a while, come to think of it.

Was it always that way? I thought he was the other in KoC for like ever...

I can be, and am very likely wrong about that.

Yikes!

Jade Ear Joe

Was just looking at a recent vid from The Weeknd and had a flash back to ... like... 10 years ago? And some goon posted him in either this forum or maybe it was a torrent forum back when they existed. And they said "here's a new guy... y'all watch out he's gonna be big."

They weren't lyin. Also his super bowl show (despite a lovely mix) is loving awesome.

Not sure if this is the right thread for this, but the Manic Street Preachers just announced their 14th album and released the first single, "Orwellian" Spotify link

Pretty excited for this one, getting some real Lifeblood vibes with the piano and that chorus is catchy as hell.

Sylvan Esso is $107 for two tickets in my area. Iím pre-outraged at how expensive tickets are in 2021, but at the same time Iím willing to pay whatever to see live music again.

I'm very hesitant to buy tickets to anything. Like yeah, I wanna go see Jawbreaker and Ty Segall like I was hoping to the summer this bullshit began...but I live in NW Ontario. It'll be a long time before I cross a border, and bands probably won't be able to come to Canada for a while.

I also work in Healthcare and feel obligated to do the safe thing.

Who will win the greatest battle of them all?

I've picked up a bunch of tickets that are mostly reasonably priced - paid around $20-30 for Oh Sees, Arlo Parks, and Black Midi

The priciest one right now was 50 something for Glass Animals, they're playing a big outdoor venue but not quite as large as a stadium/arena
