abraham linksys posted:did you listen to the live album from this year? I haven't gotten around to it yet but it's basically their third album, entirely new stuff since the frontman left. i watched a couple sets on festival streams and really liked it though i'm not sure it'd work as well in an album format I had not watched this before and I found it utterly exquisite. Thanks for the post

cptn_dr posted:More people should listen to Porridge Radio imo I really like Back to the Radio; I should give that album a full listen. Since I've been trying to listen to every album that's come out in 2022 and 2023, my wrapped is all hosed up. My top songs are We got the moves by electric callboy, Mystery by turnstile, Top dog by mag bay, Hollywood baby by100gecs and loving Call Me Maybe. i'm extremely basic this year but to be fair there have only been 2.5 KGLW albums this year so far

1. Nation of Language 2. Smut 3. Four Tet 4. 100 gecs 5. boygenius IDK who four tet is signed to and BG probably is signed to a big label but I'd say this is indie. I try to evangelize for Nation of Language and Smut, as seen ITT.

I've mostly shifted over to YT Music in the back half of the year, but my Spotify top 5 are 1. Daughter 2. Porridge Radio 3. CHVRCHES 4. BCNR 5. Lady Lamb Which is a pretty reasonable summary of my listening habits this year. Also the "city you most listen like" was the city I live in, so good job me I guess.

My #2 most played artist was Palms, signed to ipecac so that’s indie! (1 and 3 were Deftones and Crosses so there’s a bit of a Chino Moreno thing going on here)

Artists are The Beths, M83 (I think I fell asleep w their album on once lol), PUP, Beach Bunny, Jeff Rosenstock And then top songs were Local Natives- NYE (only good song off their new album), two Superviolet songs, Petey - I’ll Wait, Prince Daddy and the Hyenas - hidden track. Also I and all of my friends got “Burlington, USA” and from a quick internet search so did thousands of other people lol. What the heck?

I got 3 legacy alternative/indie acts (Wilco, LCD Soundsystem, The Replacements), Beyonce, and MJ Lenderman in my top-5 of the year. No city since I'm using Apple Music The live album that Anti- put out a few weeks ago is a great introduction to MJ Lenderman. It includes nearly everything from his debut album, Boat Songs, plus some of his early material is polished up with a full band. RIYL David Berman, Jason Molina, Being There-era Wilco https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kifEh_v1r6o

Apple Books had their own wrapped type thing this year and that was in the app so they are capable of making it happen lol

I got Cambridge based on Sufjan, the New Pornographers, and Perfume Genius. My top 5 were Sufjan, Rufus Wainwright, Feist, Fireworks, and the New Pornographers. Top .05% of listeners for Sufjan.
