Maybe there's something wrong with me, Nanny.

Ben Curtis (the guitarist for School of Seven Bells) just passed away.
Never seen them mentioned in this thread so I don't know how well-liked they are around here, but SVIIB is one of my favorite bands. Gorgeous music. Really sad news.

Also of Secret Machines, one of my all time favorite bands. I'd only heard he was ill a couple months ago, so this was a shock.

I was going to mention TSM but figured they were mostly forgotten about at this point. Which is awful. They were my first (and second, and third) concert and one of my favorite bands of all time too. Now Here is Nowhere is an insanely tight album. Now I'm sad again.

Man, that and Ten Silver Drops were such rad albums and the soundtrack to my college years. Their last album was just okay, but they really lost something when Ben left. Here's a cool song from an album that never was, Ben included.

I listened to El Pintor a couple times today. I can't argue that a lot of the tracks don't blend together, but I just dig the Interpol sound. Not blown away, but it will grow on me. Bonus track The Depths might be the best on the album.
