I'm loving the new Tame Impala album and they're becoming one of my favorite bands.

I love it all except for the first track. Just doesn't fit in for me.

Looking forward to the new Sean O'Hagan LP. He's the guy that pretty much wrote all of Stereolab's string & horn arrangements (and was in Stereolab for a spell) and he's also The High Llamas' frontman. The High Llamas are one of my favorite bands ever.

Thanks for the update on Sean.... been a fan since Gideon Gaye in the 90s and almost anything he releases hits my earhole in a pleasant way.

Also super geeked there's a new Pernice Brothers LP, first in almost a decade? Spread the Feeling

Did anyone get the Death Cab Georgia EP? It was available yesterday for 24 hours. I hate that poo poo. I’m a grown rear end man with things to do and I can’t follow bands all day to catch a 24 hour sale.

Anyway, I hear it’s pretty good. Neutral Milk Hotel and REM covers, amongst others.

I saw that DCFC one, but not before I saw the Merge Going to Georgia comp and went for that one. Wye Oak tackling Pylon's "Crazy" was enough of a draw in and of itself but the concept of the Glands' "When I Laugh" as done by Superchunk? Easy $10 investment.

Now if their site would accept my damned credit card....

if we just doing bands from the 2000s with three excellent albums in a row i'm going with Mew:

-Frengers
-And the Glass Handed Kites
-...No More Stories

what a beautiful evolution

Agree wholeheartedly. +/- never coalesced for me, but Visuals had some good jams. I could use a new Mew album, come to think of it.

Other indie trifectas (2000s or otherwise) I'm thinking of...

Low: ... Live in Hope/Long Division/Curtain Hits the Cast
Protomartyr: The Agent Intellect/Relatives in Descent/Ultimate Success Today
Damien Jurado: Maraqoupa/Brothers and Sisters of the Eternal Son/Visions of us... (not that the albums before or after dropped off, but these hang together well)
The first 3 New Pornographers LPs
Pernice Brothers: Overcome By Happiness/The World Won't End/Yours Mine and Ours
Broadcast: Noise Made By People/Haha Sound/Tender Buttons
and dunno if Britpop counts but I'd plump for Suede's first 3 as well, and Supergrass's first 3. Maybe Blur if you do the US version of Leisure.

What is your favorite Wilco song? Was just thinking about Wilco (the band, not Wilco (The Album))

I like reservations and heavy metal drummer. And magnetized.

I'm all over the place with them. "Cold Slope," "Child Soldier" off the new one, "Quarters," "Spiders (Kidsmoke)"....

Really the only "just OK" LPs from them are the debut, Ode to Joy, and the Whole Love,
