So I saw Savages in Portland last night -- they're an all-girl post-punk band from London. It was of the best shows I've seen in a long time! Their album comes out May 7 and, based on what I heard last night, it's going to rule. Here's a youtube of the single "She Will," for anyone who hasn't heard it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kebq-cENNn0

Going to ACL Festival next weekend! Any sleepers I definitely shouldn't miss out on? I'm gonna obviously be at stuff like National, Tame Impala, Vampire Weekend, etc.

Hello I am really loving the new Sharon Van Etten album. Here is one good song from it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIUsuUsiKb0

Just saw Tame Impala live (in Pittsburgh). Holy poo poo, I went into the show with middling expectations (and this is from a fan) and was totally blown away. They are much heavier live. Go see them if they're coming to your city on their current tour.

I agree. I saw them at Sasquatch and it was the best show of the weekend for me, even including my friend getting to do a song with Kendrick. They sound really really good and do some dope arrangements of their songs.

Also, as if Ian Cohen wasn't a laughingstock already:

I don't know about the bass stuff, but I record drums and he's not far off there. The drum tones in that song and the album as a whole are ridiculous.

I know I pretty much only post in this thread to ask whether concerts are worth going to but here goes another one: Yeasayer. I've been a fan for a few years and they're gonna be in Nashville around my birthday. Are they decent live?

I'll second everyone else: I saw them for free a few years ago when they played at my college & sorta expected it to be disappointing but they were awesome.
