Can anyone recommend any good beach/surf pop bands like Tennis, Best Coast, and Wavves? I'm really digging Cape Dory and am hoping there's more out there like them.

You may like Teen Daze:

And I don't think anyone mentioned it, but Real Estate is pretty great too:

I saw An Horse and Cage the Elephant open for Silversun Pickups there (all great bands that everyone should try). I was extremely confused when my GPS took me there, especially since I had thought I heard it was an outdoor venue. Cool place on the inside, but yeah, weird as hell location.

Yeah An Horse is pretty rad.

Edit:

So Best Coast's new album came out today. I was a pretty big fan of the first, but I'm not sure how I feel about the new one. I really like the lo-fi sound and it's really pushed away from that. It's more...surf pop than surf rock I guess. Only halfway through the album though.

Yeah! That's my fav off the album too. "Lovesick Teenagers" off the previous album is probably my second favorite song of theirs.

Been listening to Unknown Mortal Orchestra's self-titled debut lately. They're sort of a garage/lo-fi psych rock-pop band with some really catchy tunes. Great summer driving music, too. I don't know, the lo-fi production (particularly the drums) kinda remind me of The Beta Band or Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, actually. If this sounds like something you may sorta like then you should listen to a song or two of theirs instead of reading my terrible descriptions of their music!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-36lCKovBg

And this is unlike the rest of the album but really cool, psych-punk if I had to come up with a name for it (a thing I'm terrible at doing which is why you should be listening instead!)

Atlas Sound was one of the better concerts I've seen but that was in a tiny theater at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and I have no idea if his show will translate to a festival. Nicolas Jaar has an interesting ambient/techno sound but if it's just him sitting at a PC pushing buttons I could see it being really dull. Danny Brown is kind of insane so I think he will be worth it if you like hip hop.

What is the Godspeed live show like? I can't really get into their albums and I think Grimes is going to be a lot more fun than listening to 1.5 Godspeed songs.

Yeah Grimes is pretty cool live. She hops around and is totally into it.

I saw METRIC in Berlin. Unfortunately I couldn't get their album before the show (as I was on holiday), therefore I found it hard to get into. As despite the name, and being a fan of electronic music, I wasn't ready for the amount of synth in the songs. My favourite new song is "the void", I predict this will be a single. I managed to buy the CD at the gig, and it is growing on me.
They are better at festivals, but for $20, and a decent support-act you can't say no! It was also a kind-of gimmick that I will miss them in Australia, but randomally was in Berlin whilst they were playing.

I like this new album a lot more than Fantasies, it feels a lot more like her older stuff.

Here's some stuff I've been listening to.

DWNTWN - kinda dream pop synthy stuff, featuring MacArthur Park, some birds, trees

Jenny O. - indie pop I guess, sorta folksy, in a van, in silverlake

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1AqrrFzOaM

Peach Kings - bluesy rock with a hot lady with a golden microphone in a van again

I'm really digging this jam in the van thing.

Here's The Babies - kinda like, lo-fi indie rock I guess. Fun story, when I went to see them live I parked next to Cassie Ramone and was like "hey" and she said "hey".

Thinking about going to a Tennis concert, in early November, anyone have any experience with them? Alt+J is playing the same venue roughly a day or so later as well but, I'm not sure if I could see myself really enjoying them live.

I saw a free show that Tennis did some months back, they were pretty solid. The main person talked to the crowd and seemed into it.
