Darth Vader/James Earl Jones VO needed! (With a Shakespearean twist) Length: No time requirements. Just two simple lines. Due: Mid-day June 13th (tomorrow!) is the drop dead for me to get audio in. The sooner the better of course. Notes: You don't have to do your own post processing, but if you already know how to do a Vader voice then have at it (just send me a clean alt too). This is to VO over someone on camera. It's for the William Shakespeare's Star Wars book trailer which we shot last week. Script: "In time thy powers have weak become old man." "I find thy lack of faith... disturbing." Pay: $50. Not much I know, but it IS for an actual Lucas authorized production so that's always cool!

titties posted:I'd have liked to get in on this, but the window I can record in each day is kind of small and I missed it yesterday. I can still take recordings through today and hell maybe tomorrow if I really push it. And yeah it was definitely an "oh poo poo" moment where all of the other elements fell through. I wish I could've given more of a heads up. Hell I didn't even know the thread existed until like two days ago! It's a nice resource that I will be taking advantage of again in the future. We have some fun new book trailers coming up and it'll be fun to take a break from using our local resources (who are great, but man it gets tiring hearing them in the same thing over and over).

titties posted:Great! Maybe this isn't too late, then. I looked up some clips for reference, here are a couple of things I noticed: Thanks for these, I'll send them along with The Joe Man's. It's funny you mention those notes about the Vader voice. I said the exact same thing the other day when we were laying down scratch tracks. We looked up the references and everyone in the room was all "wow that is not like it was in my head!" As for the pause it was written that way in the book (... disturbing) but I like it better without it.

So inre to Star Wars. They have decided to just use the scratch track we had in there (which was done by an in house actor). Sorry guys . At this point, though, I'm not even sure if they're leaving in ANY scenes where Vader's voice is heard.

It dropped today (crossposting this from other threads) - It was fun but there is a TON of footage on the cutting room floor . http://shelf-life.ew.com/2013/06/28/william-shakespeares-star-wars-trailer/

Whomever thought the Voices123.com new website was ok to launch should be fired. I have never seen a more buggy release from a professional company for, well, anything. It rarely works well enough to even brute force my way through. Features just randomly disappear, it often starts randomly flipping through pages of auditions or randomly clicking on profiles. Holy poo poo was this beta tested at all??

King Lou posted:I was in on the call when they announced they were switching over to this "new system." It's really hosed up, though. They clearly launched in what most people would probably consider Alpha Dev state. I have been angrily taking screenshots of all the loving terrible design choices. Everything about it is super awful. A classic "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" situation. I'd love to see the volume of hate mail they are getting. I started getting job suggestions again but I now super hate using the site because the UX is so hosed. It's almost as if they were reading this thread and knew who I was. They reached out to me to do a video call with a UX researcher of theirs last week and I got to walk her through all the bugs and weird UI changes I experienced.

Do we have some good deep voices in here? I have a client, whose sales kickoff intro video I'm finalizing today, is now asking for a "Welcome to Sales Kickoff 2021" VO over the end. I can pay $50 - there was nothing in the budget for VO originally so I'm squeezing blood from the stone here.
