It's weird to me how many Tron spinoff there are in other media. I guess I assumed it didn't have much of a fanbase outside of people generally liking the flicks.

The combat looks like it's almost a mini game of Pong or Arkanoid, which is both novel and super appropriate for the property. Though I do wish they'd release something else with the Tron 1.5 aesthetic seen in the Derezzed music video (still the best piece of Tron media, films included) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4cgLL8JaVI

That is correct. Tron is almost exactly like Birth of a Nation.

Was there one specific person who was responsible for creating the Tron franchise in the first place (and if so are they still attached to the subsequent stuff)? Having seen the movies for the first time last year the first one sort of holds up in some ways, though seeing Jeff Bridges without a beard is a little off putting at first and I will admit the movie’s a bit dull in parts I think there was an alternate sequel that’s no longer canon called Tron 2.0 though (it got a game and a comic as I recall) but I don’t remember if it was any better than Legacy

Tron 2.0 was cool because it went all in into the premise. There's a small level where you're stuck in a handheld device and you can't equip much item due to memory limitations. Then there's a level where you must free up processor power by killing zombie programs that were leaching resources.

There's also one where you're being chased by an assassin program and the way to beat it is by making it so the computer you're on can't run it any more.

Dillbag posted:The 1982 arcade stand up is still the best Tron video game I remember going on some family trip and the motel we stayed at had the tron arcade cabinet, but for some reason you'd get electrocuted any time you tried putting a coin in the machine so I had to try and toss the coins into the slot so I could play it. That game was hard as hell.

It's about a horse race across the US in the late 1800s that the president is using as a cover to search for the body parts of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ's body parts give you superpowers.

With Jesus you'd want the feet, for water walking, or the hands, for healing. Maybe one of those Egyptian furry ones for the head so Deity Frankenstein could have a bite attack. Torso should definitely be Ganesh for the damage absorption afforded by the big belly.

He wants the nascent United States to supplant the former Holy Roman Empire as the great empire of the world, and to do that he needs a relic greater than the body of Saint Peter in the Vatican. And also, it gives you super powers.
