I was concerned about 720 as well but the unit I was shipped displays 1080p just fine. The only complaint I have so far is that it resets to "50" volume every powerup, which is pretty loud. Nothing but good things other than that. Play tested with ME3 marathon as a neckbeard graveyard IT guy.

Still, very playable in 4:3 on emulators. The character models hold up quite well. Resolution is a bit low, on my laptop at the moment.
