Well, traditionally black. If you go to any bowling alley they have tons of colors. At least every single one I've been to.

I think I've even seen multicolored ones, but not many. Most of them were solid color, some sort of marbling pattern with one base color (as in entirely blue, with blue marbling type of thing), and speckled/glittery looking ones.

Hell, I just did a search for 'bowling tournament', looked at the videos, skipped around, and saw different colors.

This is funny because go to any bowling alley and find more than a single bowling ball that is black.

My bowling alley is 95% black balls. The kids balls are all brightly colored, and some people have custom balls in whatever color, but the default balls are black.

I suppose you just have a bowling alley that decided to have an easy way of determining where to put their bowling balls.

In fairness, there's a lot of subtly implied racism in everything if you read into it a bit. Bowling is racist because it's one black colored ball knocking over a bunch of white pins with red necks.

I guess this is a good as place as any to ask. Does anyone know the context of that awkward Santorum family footage where the daughter is hugging a doll and making a *reallY* sad face? It looks like some sort of press conference.

I think it's a little old, because when I first saw it, I didn't know Santorum and just assumed he was a generic republican resigning from office after being caught while engaging in hot and sweaty man-love.

If I remember correctly, I'm pretty sure it's from when Santorum lost his reelection bid in PA in 2006.

Could be wrong, though.

Pretty much this. Santorum as the incumbent had suffered a catastrophic loss by a margin of almost 20%. Part of this was due to the whole campaign to relabel his name, though the fact that people were sick of Republicans and that he was loving insane were also factors. His entire family seemed bewildered and shocked.

Also drat, I can't believe I just realized that his daughter was dressed like some 18th-century farmgirl.

Not just that, but also the teen boy standing behind her, looking like an overfed deer caught in the headlights.

I remember a Photoshop thread came out of that picture. It was hilarious, but I couldn't find it for longest time after it made the rounds through GBS. Anyone have a link?

Exactly how old was his daughter then?
From that picture it looks like she's in her early teens, which makes the identically dressed doll all the more bizarre.

Every single member of that family is making a ridiculous face, except for the boy on the left and that's only because he's being blocked by Santorum. I want to believe he's just a clone of the dude on the right being harvested for organs

I think it's just a large bead at the top of the cross.

And that picture is just drat. He's the only one ... smiling? ... sorta. It's like a front for some Jehova's Witness inside family captivity, beating and ... maybe incest thing going on. Creepy.

Naw, looks right side up to me. And the upside-down cross isn't actually a Satanic symbol. I bet most gothapotamusses would feel pretty stupid if they knew they were wearing the Cross of St. Peter.

Is she the same daughter who's medical problems caused Santorum to pull out? I hope she's OK. No one deserves to die because their Dad is a huge rear end in a top hat.

I think it's just the thing connecting it to the necklace that makes it look like the top of the cross is longer.

Is it intentional that Rick Perry is made to look a bit closer to Ronald Reagan?

Speaking of which, it might be a fairly old and tired joke at this point but it would be cool to see what you could do for a "[Ghost/Zombie/Robot/Hologram/Mummified] Reagan 2012" ad.
