Scyfy just accounced it's going to be creating 4 tv shows based on comic books. Chief among them is Hickman's Pax Romana and Miller's Ronin. The other two are Letter 44 and Clone.

CharlestheHammer posted:At least with Pax Romana you can basically do your own thing after like the pilot episode. They might be doing their own thing in the pilot episode, the series summary Syfy released involved them going back in time to prevent WWIII not to keep Islam from becoming dominant.

Wanderer posted:About that. Is Kirkman okay? Like, did he just have a really bad breakup or something? Speaking of, just how long has Eve been pregnant at this point? I'm pretty sure we've had more than 9 months from time skips alone.

Is this the place to help remember a particular indie book as well? There was a series from a few years ago that fell off my radar and I wanted to catch up with it and see how/if it ended. It was a post-apocalypse series where humanity was living in failing biodomes under the ocean. The story followed an estranged family as they fought their way to the surface on the hope it was livable again.

Mulva posted:The entire series was basically one slow march to apocalypse, with a thousand warning signs saying "This is exactly what is going to happen, and nothing can change it". Well that was exactly what was going to happen, and nothing changed it. There is more context to what it means though, and it's not as hopeless as what they feared. BPRD mainline is over 160 issues itself. Probably closes in on 325-350 one you factor in all the Hellboy series, one shots and BPRD related minis. I got the feeling the weak ending kind of stemmed Nichols never really intending to fly delve into it. He was probably fine putting out loosely collected mini series with intriguing hints but never gave too much thought about tying everything together for the first15 years of the life. It's almost like a comic version of the X Files in a way.

Honestly, the discussion makes me think of another side. What are people's favorite series like Ex Machina, where it makes the creators career to the point they don't have time to give it a proper ending?

Mainly it's because the people that own the games now have decided to completely ignore NWoD in favor of nostalgia tinged kickstarters for the OWoD reprints. Though 'now's might be the wrong word since I think the NWoD lasted all of maybe five years or so before the EVE guys bought the games and focused on OWoD again.

I will say, the diversion about Pendragon was extremely on point based on group's teenage experience as well.
