 Try using OCCT to see the actual clock during the usage. The clock might run wildly especially if its getting too hot and didnt delid.

 Delidded 5ghz 8700k can stay below 75c on a nh-d15 though :shrug:

And you dont have to deal with the hassle or having to worry about water stuff in water cooling either. Albeit the AIO systems are fairly good nowadays.
