I actually have a pork tenderloin too that I don't really know what to do with, I never buy these things but my wife grabbed one at the grocery store because it was on sale (she loves to buy meat that is on sale....) I was going to just put some seasoning on it and grill it. Cook's Illustrated claims that will work, but I'd love a better suggestion. I guess medallions and some kinda pan sauce would work...

Mr. Wiggles posted:A lady is selling black market tamales at my black market green grocer now! Totes awesome, $1.25 a piece, and now I have breakfast. Black market tamales are the best tamales. When I lived at my mom's place way back in the day there was a lady that drove around our neighborhood selling tamales door to door. 12 for 10 bucks. drat good. Her little boy did all the transacting because her English was really poor and one time they came by on Halloween so we gave him some of our trick or treat candy and then every time after that he was sad we didn't have candy for him so I just kept some candy just for them.

They were alright. I took like a million pictures. I've never made a laminated dough before and I wasn't super awesome at the folding and what not but they came out okay. I don't know if I would make them over regular or brioche donuts in the future since it was a ton more work for only marginally more yum.

Happy Father's Day to any dads in here. I made donuts again, no cronuts this time. Too much work, but I did melt down a comically oversized toblerone triangle my wife got me and use it as a glaze. Next weekend I'm making salads for breakfast or something...

Or is it just "shape like donut, fry like donut" I didn't go too much into detail in here, but i posted a few more details and pictures in the bread thread, but never a full recipie because I got caught up with some houseguests, for the dough I used this recipe (without the figs and stuff) to make a laminated brioche (not croaissants, I'm a cheater) After that it was just sugar on the sides, chocolate ganache on the tops, whipped cream/cream cheese/powdered sugar filling etc...

mindphlux posted:the problem with adding any water to your bacon cooking is that it forms like basically a protein broth which spreads out all over the pan. so once the water evaporates, it forms a thin layer of "crispy bits" that's stuck on all over the goddamn pan. Even with cast iron this is annoying to clean, I guess not so much with nonstick, but gently caress cooking in nonstick. I dunno it really never causes much of a cleaning problem for me and I usually do it in a stainless pan. Take bacon out, pour pan drippings into small bowl to cool slightly, scrub out pan with scrubby. No big whoop. I tried it once in non stick and it was actually was much worse, but that was a really beat up cheap pan. Really its just bacon cook it however you want, I mean its not that complicated or important a foodstuff

A doctor I saw to get a script for some antibiotics told me to change my diet and avoid all processed food and corn to cure my allergies after fasting for a couple days. I usually grind my own beans but I do that anyways and I don't want to start a coffee slap fight so do what ever you want. Obviously they have to be ground before you make the coffee with them but if you're okay with pre ground beans go nuts.
