I'm really excited to see what people come up with.

I'm looking to homebrew a cost-effective vehicle tracking solution for the logistics company I work for. Basically, something that polls a GPS chip for data in minute intervals and shoots the data back to server via a 3G modem, or SMS gateway.

I get the feeling that most people in this thread don't really get what this is all about. Allow me to make a few points:

What gives you the impression that anyone here thinks it's anything more than what it is? It's a tiny ARM computer.

What's the best solution for adding SPDIF / Optical audio output to my pi?

What dashboard software is good these days?
I like the look of that smartmirror project but I don't plan on using a mirror. Just a spare monitor I have that I'd like to put in my kitchen to send recipes, basic browsing, and a few API connections.

Seems like a lot of SaaS solutions but I'd prefer to self host

Pi-hole has booted without fail except on two occasions: A corrupt SD card, and no disk space left.

If you have a gaming PC, but want to play games in the living room/bedroom, the Steam Link beta is available if you have a Pi 3b/3b+ https://steamcommunity.com/app/3533...53164093948391/

I just tried it with my Pi 3 and an Xbox 360 wireless receiver/controller and everything worked without issue.

I was going to set mine up, too. How's the latency over wifi?

Had success with a DS4, but can't seem to pair my DS3 to either Win10 or my retropie.

What's a good cheap camera that I could attach to my Pi Zero W? Low power options would be great.

What's a good cheap way to connect passive speaker wires to an old B+ or Pi Zero?

EDIT: This is just one audio project I've got. Some speakers on my deck.

Also looking for the latest recommendation for SPDIF hat for a Pi 3B+/4
