I think the beer i spent the most on on a per litre basis might have been entropy in mystic's taproom. I can't remember how much it was tho.

Apache posted:Travel advice time once again, We're planning a trip to Berlin and Munich in June, any places that are must visits beer/cocktail/club wise? We are planning to stay near Potsdamer Platz in Berlin since it looks to be central with good access to the U-bahn. Haven't looked into the Munich stuff much yet, but I'd assume one of the big beer halls is a must there. My personal beer recs for Berlin. There are lots of places that don't just serve the local macro lagers. German craft beer is also generally pretty bad IMO and my recs will reflect that. Eschenbräu is a brewpub that do fantastic lagers. Has more locals than most craft beer places in Berlin. It's my favorite beer place. I had the Flammkuchen once and enjoyed it. It's probably slightly out of the way for a tourist though. Muted Horn is an American-style (in my experience) beer bar with 20 taps and an incredible bottle menu. Probably one of the best menus in Europe. Birra is a part-Italian owned bar that focus on Italian beers. I like it a lot. Labor is a Hungarian bar styled like a laboratory. I have only been once, and I didn't think much of the beer, but it was cool and unique. Herman specialise in Belgian beers. Enough said. Kaschk is a kinda bougie cafe/bar that has two shuffleboard tables in the basement. The big Stone complex on the outskirts of the city was cool but it's a Brewdog now. Stone still have a taproom in the city though. I started writing this before I realised you'd be here in the summer. Brlo is the biggest craft brewery in Berlin and they have a small taproom/restaurant with a huge outdoor space. In the summer it's good to grab bottles from anywhere and chill drinking them in one of the many parks (completely legal). Prater Garten is a decent beer garden. There's lots of incredible clubs in Berlin (famously lol). I'm not an expert but I love Berghain, about :blank and Sisyphos. Expect to queue for hours for any of the big name clubs at peak times, with no guarantee of getting in. Potsdamer Platz is a great area to stay in terms of ability to get around but it's terribly boring. I wasn't planning to ramble this much...

Apache posted:I think we'll skip Berghain, I doubt we're cool enough to get in,and waiting for hours in line doesn't appeal to me at all(Which is why I never get Angry Chair bottles anymore, I refuse to drive an hour and then stand in line for beetus juice). I think we're going to try dunckerclub for their Dark Monday thing though. I've been to duncker but not on a Monday; seems like Mondays are fun. That's my neighborhood so I know it quite well obviously. Definitely recommend birra if you're around there, and there's a delicious noodle place beside birra called grand tang. Also very close to duncker is a newish taproom called bräugier, although I've Only been once so I can't vouch for it Probably a good idea to skip berghain Also, Monterey is probably a good beer bar to go to pre-duncker as it has a similar energy saltyslug fucked around with this message at 15:16 on Feb 8, 2020 |
