I guess back before Sailor Moon was brought to the states, Saban and some no-name company initially tried to pitch it as a half live-action, half-animated thing a la Power Rangers or Captain N. It never went past the (unaired) pilot stage, but the trailer someone unearthed at a convention a while back is so 90's it hurts. They even have one of the girls in a wheelchair!  On a similarly girly camp note: Here's "Wishing On The Same Star" from 90's Australian pop group Girlfriend. Not only is the song written by Diane Warren (aka the woman responsible for pretty much every cheesy action movie ballad at the time), but the video itself looks like something out of a Lisa Frank trapperkeeper.

If I were to have children, I don't think I'd ever buy them toys like that, as much as I loved mine. Way too easy for them to get into all kinds of trouble. My parents were pretty oblivious. I used to use that sound amplifier to listen to all the fights they had in our house, trying to see if it was about something me or my sister had done.

Perusing Amazon shows it was never given a DVD release, and there are only three reviews on IMDB (I wrote one of them). I know I'm venting, but I can't say enough bad things about this movie, and I haven't seen it in nearly 13 years. Aerosmith was a huge deal back then, anyone remember that arcade game that starred them? Speaking of which, arcades themselves were really at their peak in the 90's. Consoles couldn't match their sheer power, and what was ported was usually lovely in comparisson to the arcade version (Xenophobe, I'm looking at you). PCs weren't really viable gaming platforms yet either. I also remember my mom commenting about how there weren't any games that just cost $0.25 anymore. I miss 90's arcades, there were plenty that had relatively unique interfaces. I remember one that was practically a flight simulator, you would spin around and tilt with the primitive 3D graphics, it blew my young mind, I think it cost a dollar per play so, I never could justify more than two rounds. There was another where you were on a future motorcycle and one of the controls was a chassis for said future motorcycle! There were also the games with digitized graphics, that came to prominence with the controversial violence of watching real people fake kill each other in Mortal Kombat. There was one I liked that had dinosaurs. I also remember an arcade near my house caved to protests and removed Splatter House and another one (I looked up a few years back, but can't recall the name, Chiller, I think, it involved shooting things and torturing people), for being too violent. It's kinda sad that arcades are pretty much dead now, they were a lot more social than an Xbox. I also just realized that the duration of the 90's I was aged 9 to 18.

I do get nostalgic for the 90s sometimes, as it was my coming of age decade. I loved all the poo poo posted in this thread. I experienced so many new things in the 90s. Don't get me wrong, I love my life now, but the 90s had that feeling of unlimited potential. Now the economy has collapsed and nearly everybody is worse off than they were in the 90s, and that optimistic outlook is gone.
