T-Mobile's small print says that if you neglect to renew your prepaid plan for 60 days, the account becomes "pay as you go", so you would not lose the number but you also wouldn't be able to restore the 100-minute $30 plan since it's for new activations only. Maybe you could activate a new SIM and port the number to it, or port it off T-Mobile and back to a new SIM but I'm not sure.
