I've been interested in ambient music for years, but it's only now that I've actually taken time to sit down and listen to it (or to any music for that matter - I've mostly listened to music browsing the net or in general doing something else, now I take time to simply listen to it). This thread seems like a goldmine for finding new bands. Carbon Based Lifeforms has been very pleasant.

I didn't search thoroughly, but I got the impression that Klaus Schultze wasn't mentioned in the thread. I like the album Irrlicht a lot, here's the first track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHTaCVTqolA

Is it even ambient? Schulze's a pretty well known name, so I'm surprised he wasn't mentioned here. Anyway, that's the kind of music I like and what kind of ambient I'd like to find. "Cosmic" would be a pretty good adjective. Something that paints images of vast distances of space in one's mind - or abysses of the ocean. Can anyone recommend something like that or something similar to that Schulze's track?
