Yesssss thank you for this fantastic thread and all the phenomenal suggestions herein! Ambient music is the poo poo. These are a few artists that have really stuck with me, some of whom you may enjoy: Amiina - They're Icelandic and more on the organic side of things. They use a huge array of instruments to build dreamy little melodies. A great pick if you're looking for string-laden work. If you're looking for eerie, cello heavy tunes, look no further than her album Without Sinking. They use many acoustic instruments and field recordings, which gives them a very warm vibe. Highly recommend their album Choral.
