Seriously

Wonder if anybody here remembers this old CC mod.

But thought you all should know about this.

Very good for anybody doing business with clients. It is a better way to think, write contracts and protect yourself.

Contracts are king.

Along those lines^ here's an easy one for science fiction writers: http://www.sciencedaily.com
For me at least I read any article I find interesting and expand upon it and take it to a creatively logical end based on assumed advancement in said study in the distant future and it's been a great source of inspiration for science fiction writing while maintaining a sense of verisimilitude.

I recall someone telling me on the forum that CS4 is now free, which would be great since 'Ive just rebuilt my PC and photoshop is no longer working correctly on it.
Is this true or have I been misled?

CS2 has essentially become abandonware because Adobe can no longer maintain the activation servers for it. You can download a "backup copy" from Adobe on the honor system that you have a license for it, but it's in no way truly released as free.

Ladies.

I just switched to a new large-format dye-sub vendor. I need to have him dye the entire Pantone Solid Coated color book on my blank stock to use as a reference. Is there somewhere I can simply download an AI or PDF with every swatch on it? I don't want to build something like that from scratch.

Any recommendations for dye-sub vendors? I've been looking to do a few small batches of 10-20 shirts and so far every place I've found has quoted about $30 for double sided prints of that quantity.

99 Designs is somehow even worse than Fiverr, which is impressive. If you get a client on there you have to route any future, unrelated projects through them for the next 2 years so they can get a cut.

I can only assume this is part of the reason that freelance prices keep dropping. I can't use a site like Freelancer or Upwork anymore because the people looking for someone to do work price it at cents on the dollar. One person was billing $50 for a minimum of 5 hours work...

Assembled shirts, or flat panels to be assembled? My vendor charges $15 per 57 X 36 inch flat piece, single-sided. My cut-sew-then assembles. That's extended CMYK with Neons.

Small batches, each piece unique.

Art folks who are familiar with Gnomon and Schoolism should know about the Society of Visual Storytelling. They have really good classes and are adding more at an alarming speed. You can buy the classes a la carte or do an all-you-can-eat subscription for pretty reasonable rates considering the quality and breadth of subject matter. Courses are focused on illustration as opposed to concept art or game art. They also have a forum with monthly challenges and critiques. Highly recommended all around!

Anyone know of a reasonably priced online drawing workshop/course type thing? The one at conceptart.org seems to be mismanaged, with people complaining they've paid and can't even get access.

100% this! Conlanging can get really rear end backwards annoying if you don't know what you're doing or don't know some common holes that'll make things annoying later down the line.

This is also pretty good if you're looking for something a little more random: http://000024.org/cgi-bin/gleb.cgi

What's the best source for finding cool battle/fantasy images?

Basically I just need to find a bunch of chariot pictures so I can figure out how to paint one into a different scene/background.

e: also, any decent tutorials to follow? I used to be a decent post-impressionist painter like, over a decade ago.

Gonna follow this for the background.

You can set a word count or amount of time and it blocks out everything else until your goal is reached. Good for people who want to get into the habit of writing but are easily distracted.
The only thing that can close it aside from reaching your goal is turning off your computer, so it's pretty stubborn as a blocking app too lol.

Lipstick Apathy

Hi all, I hope this is the right place to ask, I am seeking recommendations for getting enamel pins made.
Initially I just wanted to get a few whipped up for myself just for fun because I have some cute designs in mind, but from my cursory research it looks like they need to be produced in large batches, is that correct?
Any production companies that you guys can recommend?
Thank you!
