I ended up taking my hdmi splitter out of the loop completely and it went away. I think my hdmi splitter still works fine, just an issue with the card negotiating with it or something.

How can you tell which evga cooler is 1.0 and 2.0? I ordered one this morning and it already shipped but I was expecting the same noise levels as my current asus 770 and really do not want something louder.
