Can someone more clued up than myself give me the low down on a new GPU. Recently upgraded my cpu and motherboard and will most likely do my gpu next. Currently running a inno3d 970 but its struggling a lot and seems to run really really hot (85 under heaven). So ive been planning some upgrades and decided to move on from my 970 (i think i missed the silicon valley lottery with mine tbh). at the moment im running 3x1080p 24" 60hz monitors but wanting to slowly swap those out for 144hz either 1440p or 1080p (not quite decided if my desk has the real estate for 27" screens yet). What is generally a good price (UK) for a 1080 these days and what card is considered like a "value" 1080, e.g. not looking for a thunderbastard Zotac which runs £200 more than others. Either that or is it worth pulling the trigger on a 1080ti?

So far I'm looking at the FTW3. Don't really need a kingpin Yeah I read about the so-so OCing on the 1080ti. Though I can imagine even that is better than what I can get out of my 970. It shits the bed even on the smallest OCs

Hey guys So I got my 1080ti FTW3 installed tonight but ran across a snag. So the card seems to require 2x8 pin pcie power connectors. However, the module from my psu only has a 6+2 and a 6 pin connector. The psu is modular so I assume I can just buy another cable for that right? Orrr not. I tried that earlier and on boot it said "please power down and connect the pcie power to the gpu"

This may seem like a dumb question so sorry about that. Would the 3070 be expected to "run cooler" than say a 1080ti under the same load? Or would the 3070 just be able to push more before getting to that thermal point? If that makes any sense at all
