stepping outside of gpus for gaming for a minute I do a lot of data analysis and tend to like offloading some of the costlier computations on the gpu (filtering and so on). I'm not a ~coder~ so my code probably isn't super optimized, but I often run into memory issues on my 2060 super with 8gb vram if i try to do too much in parallel. so the 4x cuda cores in the 3080 are appealing, but the small bump from 8 to 10 gb in memory is giving me pause. Should I aim for the 3090 that has 24gb? e; i'm putting together a threadripper system so the cost is less of a concern but I still want it to be justified e2: obviously the cheaper route than a tesla card Food Boner fucked around with this message at 19:08 on Nov 22, 2020 |
