My first was X and it still remains my favorite. I think it shaped how I feel about the series since I tend to enjoy the newer ones more than the older ones I have played.

I guess I'm one of the few who's first FF was their favorite. Played 10 first and then went back to the older ones, but it still remains my favorite. And from what I've heard, Type-0 actually turned out to be a stinker, which is a shame.

For me personally, any shortcomings with the individual stories of the FF X party members is made up with how they truly did act like a giant family. Auron teasing Yuna about her bed hair was one of my favorite scenes.

I'm actually kind of surprised at the 2014 release date. I figured SE would be fully concentrating on next-gen by then. Maybe I'm mis-remembering though about the end of last generation, and how long it took for companies to transition to 360 and PS3. EDIT: XIII-2 had a couple amusing scenes if you picked the goofy dialogue choices for Serah. Also there was the whole sidequest about the Super Sentai Flan kids. No one in this thread has taste because Every Game is the Worst Game in the Series. I am looking forward to X and X-2, though, mostly because of the combat. I loved being able to switch party members on the fly in X.

I guess if we're showing off our unpopular opinions, I like X, X-2, XIII, and XIII-2. And I actually enjoyed what I played of the DS version of III (I bet that's the most unpopular opinion.) But like others, I don't really hate any of the ones I've played.

Also the Paradox ending where Serah accepts the fake Lightning's offer and the fragment for it are pretty twisted.

Don't mind for one bit that SE is pulling at my fanboy strings, I'm excited for the Cloud outfit. And hey, it's a lot better looking than a lot of the ones we've seen so far!  Get me a Balthier outfit for a Gunner type class and I'll be golden.

I'm also playing XIII-2 again and I didn't realize how many areas I haven't unlocked even though I finished the game. And on top of that I'm out of Wild Artefacts.
