Am I reading right that the original message he is responding to never actually mentions Shmorky, so Goldman is just flagrantly bragging about it knowingly?

It's an automatic response he set up after Goons slammed his MySpace en masse in pursuit of good old-fashioned mid-00s Goon Justice. At one point they were making completely empty plans to sue him/report him to the FBI because sending an automatic response containing adult baby art to people without asking if they were over 18 first meant he was totally pushing child porn on people. Also they were still swearing that it wasn't Shmorky and/or it was just stuff he did for money so it totally didn't count.

He was so unapologetically obnoxious about the whole thing that I think most people were willing to overlook Shmorky's weirdness for the sake of delivering some 'Goon Justice'. I mean, when called out on his blatant plagiarism the dude basically just said "gently caress you, I'm copying this guy's artwork and there's nothing you can do about it", which was just begging for harassment from a community of nerds with nothing better to do.

The image links are broken, a few of his MS paints are up due to other posters, but I feel like I am really missing out due to not being able to read exactly what he wrote to Mr. Water.

It's an MMO where after leveling your character all the way you can reset their level to get another color name going up in the order in the emote with yellow being called cosmic and it takes like 200% as much exp as the other levels. one of the posters in the thread likes to encourage other players to "cosmic today" and the sun at the end is his avatar.

One of the soldiers is an assault class with bright pink hair and beard and who kills a lot of aliens using a shotgun. The soldier's codename is Swan lake, because his running into a crowd of enemies and killing them all is like a murder ballet or something.
