This forum would not have anywhere near as much interesting folklore (necessitating a thread like this) if the software worked at all well.

It doesn't help that I (mis?)read the thing about chocolate as "chocolate is poisonous to dogs, I guess I'll use it to do the job then"

Apropos of nothing, I wanted to note that my work Slack has this as one of the custom emotes: Only flashing like I don't know who added it or when. So either there's a goon at work or that bird has a good sized footprint outside SA

Picnic Princess posted:D&D (I think) went through a period where every post on the top of the page had to include a dog pic or you'd get probated or banned or something and for some it became a habit, they kept doing it to be safe, or they were casual enough that they didn't notice the rule was revoked. It started in the first Trump thread which was moving so fast the mods couldn’t keep up. So they said “you have to post a fat dog if you start a new page” to try to put the fear of god into people. Then people noticed that fat dog pictures were kind of a limited content source, plus it led to a whole thing about whether fat dog pics amounted to animal abuse, so it turned into just regular dog pics. Then, as with the experiment with the monkeys and the bananas in the ladder, eventually everyone in every thread started to absorb the idea that every thread should have a dog tax at the start of every page. It’s cute and fun enough that nobody minds.

What I couldn't believe was how the dude wore an actual trench coat, and his plan was basically the same as Columbine's turned out to have been originally. And yet I can't find much linking the two?

I wanna know how so many SA smilies end up in various companies' Slack libraries. Clearly there is (or was) a goon working at X company, but how does one seek said goon out without publicly owning oneself Either you're gonna out yourself as a goon to your coworkers or you're gonna dox your employer. Bah

I went with some friends including one from Australia to an Outback years ago and the waitress gave us really lovely brusque service for the first half of the meal, until apparently someone took her aside and said my friend wasn't putting on a fake Australian accent to make fun of her, he was actually from there
