:engleft: is a reference to :goleft:

I do not know much about :goleft: except that I probably refers to playing Choose Your Own Adventure games on the forums.

"Go left" became a catchphrase in Microwave's MS Paint game threads. The smiley is supposed to be reminiscent of his style.

I'm pretty sure those actually predate BYOB. :shivdurf: has been around for quite some time and :bravo: as well as its variation showed up on forums set up for goons that played EVE in various flavors before BYOB. :swoon: is also really, really old.

:buddy: and :shivdurf: are definitely BYOB smilies for Buddy and Shivadas, respectively.

I may be reaching, but isn't the snaggletooth bottom of : wink : a joke based on a single image of a model from some magazine in Australia that DPPH was obsessed with?

As I remember it, the picture featured a red haired woman, in a tight belly shirt, and a skirt, sitting in a car, blowing a huge bubble with some bubblegum, which obscured most of her face. Goons thought she was unbelievably hot and were desperate to find more images of her and hopefully one showing her face or some nudity.

Then, months or years later someone found a picture of her face, and it turned out she was a monster. Hence the ugly bottom half of .

This happened years ago, so my memory may be failing me. Regardless, it's a good story!

Might be Year of the Job from SH/SC. If so, I'm going to guess it's drinking Bawls.

Game of Thrones-related. It's the name of another series the author is involved with. The badge was given out in threads from the years between the last two books.

I skimmed the SAclopedia entry on it, and it says it's an imaginary cult, and that the cowbell is gray, but I don't see any information on the smiley.

Am I just missing something in there?

It was a Habbo Hotel griefing thing goons did. Their avatars were all as drab and grey as possible. They'd block block doorways and corner people, then go on about how "the path is grey."

Edit: I see SAclopedia says as much, and there's not much more to it. Think of them as the Neutral Planet dudes on Futurama with some added cult flavor.

"Im in outside ur houze."

At my windysill she was throwing bakon at me.

"REPENT BITCH REPENT."

"STOP THROWING BAKON AT ME."

My curtainses were closed and I hid in my room. The bakon was hoonting me.
