Or later, later's fine.
But now would be good.

So if I've already gone to see the Duchess at night and hadn't done either Madeleine escort quest so far, am I just completely boned out of her opening up shop until I do a New Game+? The second mission just dropped off the board and she's sitting in the inn, same as ever.

She'll sell things in the inn before you do Mason's quest, but she won't open up her shop by the Black Cat until you do. If she doesn't relocate over there, she won't ever update her inventory or give you her idol quest.
Oh. Because I've done Mason's stalker thing, didn't do the Cassardis escort, and she's in the inn. Lame.

Magick Archer has my eternal appreciation because I switched into it after maxing out assassin, and I've gone from being annoyed by ghost-types to cackling madly while queueing up a Hunter Bolt to clear every single one in a single shot.

My pawn loves to troll people. I've had reports from friends that he'll shout "Ice does nothing!" while giving them Ice Affinity and overwriting their fire daggers. And then he'll run off and loot in the middle of the fight instead of healing.

Basically what I'm trying to say is, this is probably the best game ever.

So what does a high Magick stat (or really, any Magick stat) on a Warrior-only weapon do? Does the game calculate elemental-affinity attacks using some portion of your Magick instead of your Attack, or is it just a dump stat to make me feel bad?

I ask because, for example: http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Dwells-in-light

Since I know Magick-having daggers are useful for most of the MArcher's Dagger attacks, but I'm not that familiar with Warrior. Do they have enough things to make that sword really neat, instead of just Pretty Neat?

You know Harpies? You get a homing shot that hits ten targets at once.
And all ghost-types enemies, which tend to get one-shotted because it's a holy element attack and they are tiny, frail little babies.

Any PS3 players in the post-game looking to get an easy Ur-Dragon kill, it's probably going down in the next 5 minutes or so. Follow along on the worst forum on the internet to find out when the grace period kicks in!

And nevermind! It looks like this generation had no grace period.

To you PS3 folks, the Ur-Dragon was down to 3 dots when I took my first ever peek at him a few minutes ago, so I think that means he'll probably get taken out sometime this afternoon or early evening?
Is the grace period back? I haven't tried Ur since either 73 or 76 had no grace whatsoever.

My favorite moment thus far is when I realized I don't even have to hit ogres anymore. I just climb on them to hold them still (jumping off to avoid backflip piledriver as needed) until my pawns one-shot them with a triple-cast High Gicel.
I felt the same way when I realized on my assassin the other day that I was now strong enough that I could double-jump up to an ogre's face and just rip the thing off with daggers in about three seconds.

And now I love ogres.
