I did get interesting bug, apparently the red dragon is bilingual in my game. Text, npc all speak English, yet he decided to speak Spanish to me. So I just went back, and in the first house you find yourself in, more Spanish, but then all the sudden he switched to English by the 3rd thing he said, I had no idea what to make of that. I even though the game might of somehow gotten that language option from Fifa, since I play that with Spanish or French, whichever fancy strikes me, kind of a cute bug though.

How early do Sorcerers get to learn the augment that reduces spell casting time? Thinking of switching my healer pawn (a cool oldish guy with glasses tyvm) to Sorcerer long enough to get that but going without him will be rough for a while.

Also can Mystic Knights and/or Magic Archers use the heal and buff spells? Maybe I should switch him to one of those :allears:

They didn't actually have it. If you walk up to the female bandit chief without any male pawns in your group (unless you're male yourself I guess) she'll tell you that another bandit group near the Witchwood entrance has it.

Here:

You might be able to talk it away from the bandit leader but he didn't care to give it up to me. It's in a chest at the very tip top of the castle's tower.

Yes makes him more verbose, no makes him shut up.

I kind of feel like inclination is becoming the most important part of selecting pawns. While a Fighter and a Ranger both with Guardian inclination (protects the Arisen) maybe sounds like a good idea, in practice they kind of don't attack much. Like ever. Having them both hang out right next to you is beneficial and cool in a way, but not when you're trying to kill an Ogre and they're just standing near you and not attacking.

Weird thing is, as a Mage/Sorcerer, I've found Guardian works great as a Secondary skill. If the Primary is something like Scather, then the pawn actually engages the enemy. Then, if one of them targets the PC, the pawn usually intercepts them before they get too close.

That's interesting, I might try that with my main pawn.

Like to know any other good inclination combinations that people have stumbled across. They make all the difference in the world.

Aside from jumping up and down uselessly in some situations with bandits, she's gotten really good at killing things, especially if there's a Fighter in the party to provoke.

Is there a demand for Warrior pawns anyway? If not I could switch back to Fighter. At this point, my pawn is really proficient with both. Altering Inclinations made a world of difference.

I like Warrior pawns who have the skill that pulls aggro. The damage they can deliver to tough enemies makes them way more useful than Fighters in my experience.

Is it my imagination or are the items that larger monsters drop affected by how you kill it? My usual way of killing a cyclops was to just stab it in the back of the neck neck repeatedly until dead. I've killed somewhere around 20 or so, but never realized they can drop a misshapen eyeball until I changed up my tactics and went specifically for stabbing it in the eye. I'm two for two now when I manage to stab its eye a few times before it dies.

Golems seem to drop different items if you manage to kill it while it's enraged. I've killed six of them. The first four I killed normally and they always dropped copper ore and magick seals. The last two I've killed while enraged and they dropped much more rare ore.

Are there any other changes to loot tables that anyone has noticed? Or is this just confirmation basis on my part?

I've seen pawns chatter a bit about picking up tusks after you've broken them off so you're probably right.

e: Just got it again: "Snatch up any tusks you break free!"

e2: Sure enough they dropped tusks when killed.

You can buy potions from the guy standing next to the riftstone in the Encampment that will instantly give a huge boost to the inclination of your choice. They're all really cheap, like 200 RC each. Makes it simple.

e: Oh, to actually answer your question, if you use a potion to give a pawn a primary inclination, what was in the primary slot before will typically drop to secondary. So just use them in order. If it's a huge shift you might need a couple of potions for it to change.

What's the difference between Nexus and Guardian. I must admit the latter seems like the obvious choice on a tank.

So how does a male character speak with Ophis, the bandit queen? Dress like a woman?

Nexus try to assist their fellow pawns. Guardians try and hold your hand all the time, in the sense that even as a secondary inclination Pawns with Guardian will always stand right next to you, often opting not to attack as a result. I'm getting to be pretty staunchly against Guardian entirely. Even archers won't always attack while they're hovering around next to you.

Cross dressing might work, you should try it and report back.

I gave Madeline the Gold and him the Silver, she got a bunch of new weapons though mostly ranged (no archstaffs) and a lot of new armor (design-wise generally in line with the rest of her inventory), Caxton only got a few additional weapons and no new armor.

What happens in the nameless terror quest? I think I got it as a result of not killing the salvation member in the catacombs. It wouldn't let me kill him though as far as I could see. Spells wouldn't target him and I wasn't seeing an option to.

The reason I ask is that I want to go see the duke and I think the quest will be cancelled by talking to him

It won't. Supposedly there are five groups of named assassins who will jump you at predefined points on roads at night. I say supposedly because I've never been able to get all of them to show up, so either the information I have is wrong or they're weirdly finicky about the business of killing you.

Here's what I found looking for information on it, maybe it'll help you out:

quote:

Ambush 1: Right in front of the Ancient Quarry where you received the quest from Alon to clear it out and open the door. You'll be attacked by various people named after birds (I recall Raven, Hawk, and Condor).

Ambush 2: This is past the far north bridge from Gran Soren. The one that Catacombs Rear Passage 2 is at. You'll be attacked by names like Phantom and Ghost.

Ambush 3: Follow the path back towards the Waycastle and take the top road, as if heading to the Mountain Cottage;. It's a small area to the side with a large tree. You'll be attacked by Darkness.

Ambush 4: Just walk the path between Waycastle and Encampment. You'll be attacked by Rouge and someone else, I forget.

Ambush 5: Literally right at the entrance of Cassardis. You'll be attacked by Zero.
I've gotten two, maybe three of these to show up. It's hard to keep track because it isn't always super clear when it's "happening" and also the quest log doesn't update after each.

e: Also the last ambush might not trigger until you've done all the rest.
