It's interesting because GW obviously own so much content that they could just jam all the published Mordheim stuff in a hardback book and sell it with a little reformatting and proofing.

Also aren't we expecting The Hobbit this year? I assume that will get some kind of 'Mines of Moria' equivalent box.

Probably will coincide with the movie, so Christmas.

As for the Mordheim stuff, why? The rules are freely available, and the only other thing you need to buy is a gang. Why a re-release?

This would be the most awesome thing ever.

I used to work in a game store, and a guy brought in a copy due to a missing doorway or something. The game was OOP at the time and it was the last copy that we had. I looked at the box on the manager's desk and was like "Meh, I'll never want to play that game."

I still kick myself every time I think of that.

A single volume rulebook (that isn't a 13 year old paperback) compiling everything written for the game and incorporating all errata, new miniatures and a resurgence in the existing player base and influx of new players.

They did this for Necromunda. It's one of the best things GW ever released.

A theoretical question: If someone had a sealed copy of Gorkamorka (with a "Polish rules included" sticker, so most likely resealed by the importer/distributor), how much would it be worth on eBay/forums? Theoretically. :v:

Here, let me search eBay for you.

This is of course just a starting price, so you should Watch that auction and see how it ends.

Here's one in the UK.

And here's one that includes Digganob.

Huh? None of the ones I linked are $80. One is $200, the british one is 150 quid, and the combined deal is $390.

I assume it's an automated shipping quote that is taking into account that you are an international buyer.

Yeah, it is!

...it seems to have been placed in the Epic 40k category, that might be why it's still so cheap. That and the box is open and miniatures are sprayed, you never know if someone's been too heavy-handed with some kind of horrible enamel or something.

Also, kinda funny, its located in old stomping grounds, Southampton. The GW there is the one I popped my miniatures hobby cherry at, way back in 1989.

So there's an extremely remote but nonzero chance I actually used to know the guy selling it. Weiiird.

No because GW likes the control you get with the App Store. You can easily rip an Android app and install it without paying - this is actually a huge criticism of Android developers.

Well let's see. I can buy a complete copy of Warhammer Quest on eBay for $200. Or I can buy an iPad for... what, $300 at a minimum?

So that's still literally zero reasons to buy an iPad. Disappointing.

You can easily do the same for iOS by jailbreaking. The real concern is the number of android devices out there and the lack of common standards between them make it very annoying to develop for.

You are correct, but the majority of iOS users don't know what the hell a jailbreak is, let alone how to do it. Android users are a little more savvy in terms of technology (though this curve will decrease as more Android products take root and move to the general public.)

And I know the lack of standards is huge, but as a content developer who is trying to recoup development costs, Android sucks. Most give up and offer the game for free or .99, and try to make some money on additional content.

But to get things back on the Specialist Games track, if anyone has any Warmaster Empire units (core, not heroes) please let me know. I've got to fill out my army to get it up to 2000 points.

Tell me about it - I am kicking myself for not getting into it when the models were readily available. As for alternative minis, I looked around, but honestly, most 10mm fantasy just sucks. Historicals are decent, but you're limited to humans. I'd love to get a Skaven army, but the only alternative line I've found is pretty bad.

Will do. I managed to luck into three armies on the cheap- one LGS guy unintentionally ordered a sleeve of Skaven blisters that he sold me for like $60 and I picked up both a huge vampire counts and empire army at a swap meet.

Old Glory makes great 10mm historicals, and they are on strips like WM ones. WM ancients its a great little system, and it's killing me that I can't get the Medieval Armies book anywhere.

The ultimate fusion of man and machine.

Anyone have any words of wisdom about running a Mordheim campaign? I have played before but the others in my group haven't. I don't mind that it's mostly imbalanced but will probably house rule armor to half price and am tossing up how make dual wielding more fair compared to hw + shield. From what I read online an unmodifiable 6+ shield parry could work.

I love Mordheim. Those house rules might not balance it out necessarily but anything that shakes up the "naked guys and two hand weapons" playstyle is a good thing. I say go for it.

Have you taken a look at the Specialist Games boards to see how they handle it? http://www.forum.specialist-arms.com/index.php

Also, why are you halving the cost of armor? Part of the fun of the game is expendable henchmen getting horrible disfigurements or dying...

I actually have a bad of Pendraken figures (and one of magister militum) coming to fill out my old glory bases. Old Glory strips don't fill a 40mm base, so this should diversify the ranks and bulk them at the same time. They look pretty great online- would their fantasy line work for Warmaster?

I would go Kallistra, as they're the same models, just on strips, rather than individuals. Plus you get the bases.

The Undead look pretty decent, but I really am not liking the Ratmen - I think they ruined the line with the silly hats.

Look up Coreheim. Shields are a 6+ armor save, 5+ with a hand weapon. Also if you take the extra attack with two hand weapons you get -1 WS.

I've never actually played Mordheim, but Coreheim is at least attempting to balance some things and the rules are pretty nicely laid out.
