Just enjoy where you're at; no need to embark on a youtube editing adventure.  Why not do both? It's not like you don't have tons of downtime while traveling anyway. I get what you're saying, and I agree that this is pretty much a ripoff of things that have already been done (better) by other people on YouTube, but I don't see the problem in spending 10 minutes at each location to get a goofy video in.
