drat. Now that's a lot of information!

I hope the pre-order clans for FOTS drop in price within the next few months. I think they should have just released them for free.

Only if they write up a narrative that explains why Romans are fighting Godzilla, Shrek and the Klingon Empire.

Somebody. Please do this.

With the new Templar series airing soon I hope we get a saga based on the crusades and the siege of Jerusalem. Richard the lionheart and Saladin would be perfect for a saga title.

Thanks. Money's tight now, but I'll pick TWW2 soon. And :skeltal: Tomb Kings :skeltal: when possible.

Good choice TWW2 is one of the best total war games to date and the tomb kings have some interesting mechanics making them a nice change of pace to the other races.

Booked a week off so I could settle in and play this heavily for a few days. Literally the only game I was looking forward to this year, even if the release was going to be a hot mess as per usual and now it's pushed back again.

Thanks CA :v:

Planning your vacation around CA Launch dates...well, it's less destructive than gambling, but that's the kind of risk assessment that should tell you to stay the gently caress out of casinos.

Which is why I didn't book it off when it was initially announced. I knew the first date would be pushed back. Wasn't expecting that to be the case with the second date.

I need to use that holiday before the end of April anyway so it's not waste, just a shame that it got pushed again. Come to think of it i might actually get around to completing my second run of persona 5.

Hopefully we get the WH2 DLC a bit earlier with the pushed date as I've played both WH1 and 2 to death now.

I've preordered almost every CA game over the past 15 years. This one is no different. I remember picking up a demo disk of Medieval I at a local car boot sale when I was 6 and shortly after picked up Rome I and Shogun I. There just aren't many other games like these.

Even though I am expecting the usual day 1 - 60 jank (and yes I do remember the Rome 2 AI and boating issues that arguably still persist to this day) I am quietly optimistic about this. They've had extra time to work out the bugs and kinks and all of the videos I've watched so far look great. As long as I can have some simplistic battles and slowly expand my empire I'll find a way to have fun.

The main problem i see is that there is no real competition for developers like creative assembly or paradox and both have a distinctive style that makes them non-competitive too. Hopefully as time goes on some younger developers will try their hand at this particular genre but some how I don't see that happening any time soon. It's the only thing that will truly motivate both developers to ensure that their games are playable and well supported after release (looking at you throb). Hopefully if the extra time they have spent on this gives them their best press for a game to date CA will reconsider their development plan and ensure that all future releases do the same.

I also booked another week off of work so they better not delay again. :v:

Cao Cao is actually pretty goddamn hard because he's in basically the center of every faction in the game so he has to spin a lot of diplomatic plates to not get gangbanged from all ends at all times(and sometimes this happens anyway). Sun Jian is the actual easy mode start since you basically have southern China all to yourself and if you give up the Imperial Seal when asked you don't get sucked into war with any major players outright.

Or keep the seal and push to create alliances / vassalise the few surrounding northernmost provinces so you can finish up the south before moving forward. That's how I'm playing and it's glorious. I'm also insanely rich despite having multiple armies on the battlefield. Went high food and just sell it to my opponents quite often for 1k~ for 10 turns.

Or the Han Empire could be made active rather than passive. Even giving them the income that they can develop their towns and recruit forces could do it.

I'm hoping a DLC (one that you can switch on/off) or a mod does this as that was the most boring part of my first campaign. So much so that I managed to carve out a good % of the 'middle' kingdoms to stop myself from dying of boredom.

Kind of wish I'd just defended my starting provinces and worked my way through liu biao down and then back up towards the emperor, but eh, there's always a second campaign.

Did they dial back the tree fading they had in WH2? I know spacebar still does it but in comparison to WH I feel like I can't see poo poo in heavily forested maps. Most of the trunks still remain with the spacebar pressed and there are so many it makes it a pain to navigate.
