Is glitched game music acceptable?
I have a really odd/awesome rendition of Vampire Killer from Castlevania 1 from a broken ROM:

I've seen some pretty strange SOTN glitches, but this is ridiculous:

That's from the end of Romscout's SOTN pacifist run during Summer Games Done Quick.

The infinite sword glitch, I didn't know it worked with deku sticks until I saw them do it, or how their new version of it works, how it used to go was you'd do a stab attack by a sign and then read the sign before the attack finished, it'd get stuck in a 'damage' phase so you could walk into things and they'd die by a flurry of infinite imperceptible sword swipes :black101:

Why can't he just give us the game audio without wagging his neckbearded chins like every other speedrunner?

Speedrunners always sound weird when they stream alone I've noticed, Romscout in particular is pretty bad there, on the other hand he's one of my favorites when he's on A/SGDQ

That first video is just on a lower graphical setting, I'm not sure if maxed out would give you the same amount of recursion as the other vid it might require some tweaking, but it definitely shouldn't be blacking out only 1 layer deep.

Just listened to Jeff Gershman talk about playing it, and he said there's a ton of T-posing and guns just pointing up in people's hands, and also that he game isn't that great.

'Game isn't great' is basically Jeff Gerstmann's middle name at this point, he's worn out and cynical as gently caress. Literally the only passion for gaming I see from him anymore is in his retrogame streams and even then he can still be depressed and dismissive of a lot of things.

Reive

I mean liking things and being cynical aren't really mutually exclusive, it's more about attitude, but just because I don't personally see much passion anymore doesn't mean it isn't there I'm not the religious watcher/podcast listener I was a decade ago. It's just a hard balance between liking someone's work for a long while and not agreeing with a lot of what they say anymore

I should have worded it better or not have said anything, sorry.

TooMuchAbstraction posted:

It's a fairly common glitch. If the player can stand on physics objects, and they can pick up physics objects, then odds are good that they can fly by surfing a physics object that they're holding. I've seen it in Half Life 2 and Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts, for example.

It's also the kind of glitch that I think gamedevs mostly aren't too fussed about fixing, because it doesn't really interfere with regular gameplay. And who cares if some folks use it to fly?

even if they can't pick it up, if it has physics, can be moved, and can be stood on, there is almost certainly a way to fly with it,

GTA 4 has the batches of cars too. If you swore there was more sports cars in the streets when you were driving one it's because their was.
NPCs had less diversity too on lower settings.

This has been the same in every 3d gta! There's basically an internal list of cars that spawn depending on what you're currently driving, there's many ways to game what spawns to find what you want, especially useful in 5 when there are rare rear end vehicles that are next to impossible to find normally you have to keep car hopping until you're in the right batch.

Hey, how should I treat driving and crime in Cyberpunk? If I run someone over, am I a wanted criminal? Will I go to jail? Have I hosed my character over? Or is it basically just, evade the cops for a while, GTA-style?

As of 2.0 it has a straight up gta wanted system, stars and all, just stay out of the search radius on the minimap long enough and they'll go away like nothing happened.
