I'd like to think the shot was missed because the player was laughing too hard.

However, knowing video games it would be more likely that an old replay got messed up by later game updates. That's always a great source of hilarious glitches.

It's easy to fix bugs, just hire more coders. Duh. It's just like how you fix all server issues by getting more servers. It's so easy. Sadly most game developers are greedy cheapskates who would spend all that precious server money on making DLC and cosmetic content.

I like this LoL glitch. The character being played is Darius who has an ability called Apprehend which pulls enemies in a small cone towards him. He also has a summoner spell called Teleport and uses that to return to his home base, which he can do because he left a ward in his spawn. For some reason the timing worked in a way that although the ability plays out after the teleport it still affected the characters that used to be in range.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrSytGmpG_0

The end result is that they all get decimated by the spawn protection laser.

TheMaestroso posted:

Probably 2 - the absurd release schedule made the first release a steaming pile of buggy problems. I remember getting to the Jedi retreat on Telos IV, killing the assassin droids, going inside and then having the cutscene half-register so that it stops partway through with no dialogue triggering. This meant that characters were stuck in their cutscene positions and could run around a bit and look at them, but nothing happened. Had to reload and do about half an hour worth of game just to try again and hope it didn't happen again.

I actually think it's in the first KotOR. There is essentially a jailbreak sequence in which you pick a single character to free some others. I vaguely remember some sort of recommendation to never pick party members that could use stealth for that one.

Edit: It seems so.

quote:

If your character is cloaked when you finish this section, you will probably get the
Carth Glitch. It won't happen right away, but during a certain cut scene, the
game will not advance past a line of dialog from Carth, because Mission is
supposed to speak next, and you can't see her!

The game actually makes a roll of your awareness vs. her stealth during this
cut-scene! IF you have a high enough awareness or are wearing awareness
enhancing equipment you might be able to get past this. The game will
automatically re-roll every 20 seconds, so if it is mathematically possible
for you to beat Mission's stealth, you can just leave the game sitting, and
it will eventually get past this. It make take minutes, but it could also
take hours.
If you have little or no awareness, then the only way to get past
this is to load a previous save. If you didn't use stealth on this part, you
shouldn't get the bug.

Though, Valve did remove the rubber legs physics on the Scout's doublejump at some point.

It took them a while and it never completely fixed the odd behavior (it just became less common and/or less noticeable). But yeah, they even wrote a blog post about it back in the day: http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=3368

quote:

Throughout Team Fortress 2's years-long release and update cycle, many people have asked us, "Seriously, how could you guys not have fixed that yet?" The majority of these queries are directed to TF2 animator Matthew Russell, who is technically responsible for fixing this kind of thing, and most of them pull no punches. "Is it because Matthew Russell is too stupid to fix it? Why would Valve even hire someone with a horseshoe-shaped divot in their skull?" is an email we see a lot. "Does Matthew Russell have a disease that makes him lazy?" is another popular one. An astonishing number of them are simply a .jpeg of Google Maps with Matt's house ominously circled. The rest could be summed up as a long, unbroken string of expletives and grammatically questionable racial slurs.

I think they were like a dozen FPS for the GBA, most of them classic ports (Doom 1 & 2, Duke 3D, Wolf 3D) or an heavily adapted port of a console shooter (Medal of Honor, James Bond).

I believe the first Ecks vs Sever was based on a script, so it wasn’t inspired by the actual movie itself. That probably changed for the sequel, even if the movie ended up being a dud (I described it once with “no one had fun during the making of this movie, not even the on-set caterer”).
