I'm still catching up on the thread 200 messages back, but as people were discussing flash's awfulness and timely death I either had a stroke or a sudden memory flashback.

I remember something, either from macromedia or RealMedia, that had like weekly (?) Games and short cartoons (??) with a reoccurring australian (???) little dude, like a red headed lemming or something. I remember one of them was a breakout clone where the dude was the ball and slammed around breaking stuff. Another one was a racing thing and you had to run over bullfrogs with his little truck.

I even remember it came out on a specific week day and I was so excited to download that week's pack getting home from school.

Was that real? Am I going insane? Why do I smell burning toast?

I wish I knew how to rip those hidden tracks that come at the beginning of a CD. There's a bunch out there.

I'm pretty sure EAC is capable of this.

How's this for obsolete: getting a Plextor drive for that sweet sweet C2 error detection, before every optical drive on the planet was capable of digital extraction.

I used to love that site. Imagine my surprise when Vinesauce posted a video of a generic-looking game pack and it turned out to be a bundle of those old ezone games!

I wish there were a way to experience the Gamesdomain castle again, though without multiplayer it'd be deeply pointless. That was an interesting moment in internet history when weird stuff like that just existed.

Lenny Loosejocks brings back memories of places like ezone and shockwave and all sorts of crazy things from the late 90’s and early 00’s. I definitely wasted a lot of time playing poo poo like Waterballon Drop III and all sorts of nonsense...

I hope so. Some of my kid's online classes still use it, and my work's voicemail web portal still requires it, and I don't have much hope for either of them rushing to change that in the next two months.

I've been enjoying uninstalling that poo poo on every device I touch. Why they couldn't just do updates and instead had that terrible practice where you had to dodge the adware installing mcafee or whatever? :fuckoff:

The best things on Newgrounds, roughly in order, are:
1) The two guys who live in the Pong paddles getting into a fight and discovering the extents of their universe
2) Xiao Xiao 3
3) Learn to Fly
4) The animation about being drunk set to The Girl from Ipanema

Since we’re on the subject, does anyone remember a Flash video about a kid who goes walking into the woods and all the forest creatures come out and it turns into a skateboarding / music jam? There’s a turtle, if that helps, and the soundtrack is by someone or something called “Slang.” Searching for “turtle skateboard slang woods” doesn’t work very well.

I remember one animation hosted at albinoblacksheep that was a french song sang by a talking head, and then a black & white picture of a DJ would pop up at certain points, and afterwards a bunny with a sniper rifle would blow the DJ up.

That poo poo was hilarious to me in 4th grade, but I could never find it afterwards. :(
