I already mentioned my roster issues on IRC, but I'll post the specific issues here to make it easier for you. Here's the post with my complete roster for reference. I'm currently missing: Johan Santana ('06 Twins) Michael Cuddyer ('06 Twins) Dan Plesac ('86 Brewers) Claude Osteen ('69 Dodgers) The rotation should be: 1 - Don Drysdale 2 - Don Sutton 3 - Johan Santana 4 - Teddy Higuera 5 - Ken Johnson Other pitching issues: Jim Bunning should be my long reliever, with Francisco Liriano bumped down to the minors. Bump Turk Farrell down to the minors, put Jim Brewer in middle relief, put the missing Dan Plesac in short relief. Put Claude Osteen in the minors. Get rid of that Enrique Gonzalez guy entirely. Batting lineup should be: 1 - Paul Molitor 2 - Joe Mauer 3 - Torii Hunter (DH) 4 - Justin Morneau 5 - Carlos Beltran 6 - Robin Yount 7 - Luis Gonzalez 8 - Jermaine Dye 9 - Luis Castillo without DH: 1 - Paul Molitor 2 - Joe Mauer 3 - Carlos Beltran 4 - Justin Morneau 5 - Luis Gonzalez 6 - Robin Yount 7 - Luis Castillo 8 - Jermaine Dye 9 - [pitcher] Batting notes: Mike Sweeney should be on the bench; switch him with Justin Morneau (though considering the ratings now, I'll probably be benching Morneau somewhere down the line, unless a re-roll changes that). Decided to switch Michael Cuddyer from RF to the bench with Jermaine Dye - I made this decision before I saw the ratings (hell, I don't know Cuddyer's yet). Willie Davis should be in the minors; switch him with Ted Sizemore, who should be on the bench. Bump Raul Ibanez down to the minors. Not that it matters now, but I'll probably be platooning Luis Castillo with Joe Morgan. ---- Well, that *should* be about it. Thanks in advance.

Monathin posted:I'll be likely simming tonight and updating tomorrow so you can see. Right now is 'final roster changes'. Err...umm, any update on 2006 Johan Santana? I know you cloned him so he actually appears on my team now; just want to know his rating and be able to fine tune the rotation as such, and if adding him would've forced another re-roll on my team (though I don't see why that would happen). Then again, I guess I'll post a revision here using a rough guideline. With Santana: 1. Drysdale 2. Sutton 3. Santana 4. Higuera 5. Osteen with Ken Johnson (switched out because of Osteen's better rating) and Turk Farrell in the minors. There should be no other changes to the lineup compared to what I posted last time (see here for batting lineup reference).

Well, I see a few changes that need to be made. First and foremost, kick that Prescott Russell guy off the team. He's an extra who appeared before Johan Santana had to be cloned, apparently. Now, who to replace Higuera in the pitching rotation with...eh, guess I'll move in Jim Bunning from long reliever to replace him; keep everyone else on normal rest. Higuera to the DL/minors, call up Ken Johnson. Turk Farrell (who I don't know why he's in middle relief to begin with since he's a starter), move him to long relief. Jermaine Dye in the starting defense but not the starting lineup? Put him into the starting lineup, bench Michael Cuddyer. Put Mike Sweeney in at catcher for the month, move Joe Mauer to DH, bench Torii Hunter. The lineup itself should remain the same, just with Sweeney in place of Hunter (and Dye in place of Cuddyer). Stand pat everywhere else.

So, in addition to my previous post, it seems there's also interleague play this month, and my non-DH lineup needs some major fixing: 1. Paul Molitor (3B) 2. Joe Mauer (C) 3. Jermaine Dye (RF) 4. Justin Morneau (1B) 5. Carlos Beltran (CF) 6. Robin Yount (SS) 7. Luis Gonzalez (LF) 8. Luis Castillo (2B) 9. [pitcher]

Woo, no injuries this month! That being said, still a few changes. Catchers seem to be sneaking their way into my farm system; kick Chris Thacker off the roster. I seem to have one extra pitcher in the majors, and Rusty Staub in the minors, so...bump Staub up to the bench, send down Ken Johnson to the minors. Bullpen shuffling time! Closer: Joe Nathan Setup: Matt Guerrier SR: Jesse Crain SR: Jim Brewer MR: Dan Plesac LR: Turk Farrell Switch Jim Bunning and Claude Osteen in the rotation. Also, lineup change time! Bench Luis Castillo, unleash Joe Morgan in his spot. That'll be all.

I'm thinking probably, because this Gil Conrado guy sure as heck wasn't on my team when the month began, unless the Amateur Draft automatically put him on my bench or something, or he was simply a made-up player for my roster after the previous player was sacked, and got called up briefly himself because of minor injuries on my team or something... Can't speak for Thome if he wasn't sent down, though.

So, I noticed almost NONE of the changes I requested last time were updated, outside of sending a pitcher to the minors to put Rusty Staub on the bench (and then it was a different pitcher than the one I specified). Oh well, at least my team's improving slowly from month to month. First and foremost, Bench Luis Castillo, start Joe Morgan in his position. Requested this last month, didn't change. Also not changed from last month, but more minor: Move Claude Osteen to 4th in the rotation and Jim Bunning to 5th. Next, let's try dealing with all the bullpen issues: Dan Plesac to the DL, call up Turk Farrell. Please put Turk Farrell in long relief, bump Ken Johnson into middle relief, and bump Jim Brewer into short relief. Finally, other lineup changes: The lineups should be changed to: WITH DH: 1. Paul Molitor (3B) 2. Joe Mauer (DH) 3. Mike Sweeney (C) 4. Justin Morneau (1B) 5. Carlos Beltran (CF) 6. Luis Gonzalez (LF) 7. Jermaine Dye (RF) 8. Joe Morgan (2B) 9. Robin Yount (SS) WITHOUT DH: 1. Paul Molitor (3B) 2. Joe Mauer (C) 3. Carlos Beltran (CF) 4. Justin Morneau (1B) 5. Luis Gonzalez (LF) 6. Jermaine Dye (RF) 7. Joe Morgan (2B) 8. Robin Yount (SS) 9. [pitcher] Guess I'll be benching Mike Sweeney for those interleague games, it seems. GVOLTT fucked around with this message at 16:35 on May 2, 2013 |

Yay, I won my division, and I'm in the playo---no, not Mike Sweeney! Err, umm...he was my backup catcher, as well as preferred designated hitter. Now I guess that Juan Chide character has to be called up just in case, even though he shouldn't have been on my team in the first place. And I guess since he's healthy now, call up Dan Plesac, put him in middle relief, and send down Ken Johnson. Everything else - stand pat, aside from my batting lineup: 1. Paul Molitor (3B) 2. Joe Mauer (C) 3. Carlos Beltran (CF) 4. Justin Morneau (1B) 5. Luis Gonzalez (LF) 6. Robin Yount (SS) 7. Jermaine Dye (RF) 8. Joe Morgan (2B) 9. Luis Castillo (DH) Not sure if I should create a second lineup since Paul Molitor will miss the first couple of games, but I guess it's not a huge deal. Whatever the case, Michael Cuddyer should be starting in his place for just those 2 games, if BBM doesn't automatically do that for whatever reason. EDIT: If there is a championship round after this...well, I don't see my lineup changing anyway, aside from putting Luis Castillo on the bench for non-DH games. I never use him because I think Billy Williams and Stan Musial are both better choices for the left handed part of my LF platoon. I don't plan on making any trades until after the EC playoffs and the dispersal draft, and also not until I re-evaluate my feeder selections. In fact, if there's any move I'm making, it'll probably be switching in Bill Singer and switching out Francisco Liriano. As for the other pitchers you mention, I'll consider making them available for trading, but only after what I previously mentioned.

Well, I'm not gonna post my finalized roster until I'm able to open the mystery box, but I have quite a few pitchers available for trade: These three are currently sitting on my roster (in the minors, though): Jim Bunning ('69 Dodgers) (old) Teddy Higuera ('86 Brewers) Jesse Crain ('06 Twins) Notable pitchers that didn't make the cut: Ken Johnson ('63 Astros) Francisco Liriano ('06 Twins) (rookie) Matt Garza ('06 Twins) (rookie) Brad Radke ('06 Twins) Bill Singer ('69 Dodgers) Some relief pitchers not on my roster: Pete Mikkelsen ('69 Dodgers) Pat Neshek ('06 Twins) (rookie, but 25) Danny Darwin ('86 Brewers) I also have a few hitters and other pitchers with a little notability if you feel like looking through my feeders (which also includes the '01 Royals, but why would you want anything from them that I didn't already take?), but pitching is where I have some depth. I am also fine with trading some players on my current roster if the price is right. Currently, I'm looking for some outfield depth, mainly LF, and middle infield depth as well. But I suppose that's not a huge deal with how wide Mogul rolls end up. A couple of moves: Yes, I will free The MACHINE. Send Tom Haller to the minors, call up The MACHINE to the bench. Also, considering I now can see the ratings, I guess I'll also send Jim Brewer to the minors, call up Jesse Crain and put him in Brewer's bullpen spot. I'll stand pat everywhere else, including not switching my long reliever to one of the other two starters I have in the minors, even though the ratings would suggest otherwise.
