Looking to get back into this after a long while away, PSN is CJSeedge, based in Ireland so would be GMT evenings if anyone wants to shoot space mans together.

I've been getting back into this, and not had much experience vs Collectors. Do Scions or Praetorians have a weakspot? I tried sniping a Dcion in the head but to no discernible advantage.

Also, any tips on what to do with the Javelin? It seems worse than my Widow. Or Kishock. Or Mantis. Or anything.

Scions have a giant hump that is impossible to miss. Shoot that one first until it bursts so they lose their damage reduction, and then aim for the head.

Praetorians have a weak spot right under the eyes. Shoot that with a gun that has piercing so you can hit the giant mass of heads.

Thanks. Got the Scion popping down, though yet to get a proper look at the Praetorians heads.

There is a challenge to get points with Barrier. I thought this was a defensive skill? It also seems like Volus support powers such as Shield Boost should earn the Volus player some points to encourage teamwork...

You don't need to see the heads to start shooting them so long as your gun can pierce cover, either through weapon mods or having AP ammo equipped. When you do enough damage the Praetorian will stagger backwards and fall onto its back for a few seconds.

Legend. Thanks man.

If you make a Geth infiltrator and spec everything for weapon damage and use the high velocity barrel, and the armor piercing mod you can do what is supposedly the highest single shot damage in the game to boss monsters since the Geth has that additional bonus to Geth weaponry. It's also nice because with hunter mode and farsight scope built in, you can see through Cerberus smoke and/or walls. Just make sure you know where the ammo crates are and bring a SMG or something for mooks since your javelin shots are priceless commodities of infinite pain to the bigger mobs.

So the best thing I can do with my new Javelin is bring a different gun. Thought as much.

The description of Shadow Strike says it's a Melee Attack & it counts for Melee Kill medals so why wouldn't it count for combat mastery?

Perhaps give Repair Matrix a cooldown if it revives you, say 30 seconds?

Thermal Clip packs can be used liberally, especially for the +100% weapon damage buff for 10 seconds after using one.

I did not know this. Was this patched in at some point? I swear, the things that game doesn't bother to tell you...

Have any irrational beings maxed out their one-use consumables? There are 8 IV amps, * 255 (guessed max), and 2 rares per 100k box, Plat gets 140k ish... uh... if you don't use any IV amps to do so, about 728 Platinum games would cap your Rare consumables, I think.

It might be possible to check max by buying 4 equipment packs per Plat but given L1, 2 & 3 and the numerous categories, it'd be significantly longer than going for the rares.

Maxing your IV amps would probably just get you character training anyway...

This seems right. This is what happens with the D-Pad Consumables. For example, If you have 253 Medigels, and you buy a Jumbo Equipment Pack, the pack will still show as giving you +5 Medigels, but your stock will still max at 255, and you basically lose out on those last 3 missiles.

Yes but then you stop getting Medigel in packs & get one-use equipment consumables instead. My query was if you maxed your Lv IV ammo, would you start getting Ultra-Rares, but it seems not.

Had an idea for ME4: what if you tied SP War Assets to MP?

For example, if you found a squad of biotics on a moon in SP, plus 10 War Assets. It would give your MP characters a consumable, once per 24 hours, biotic artillery strike you could call in on a tough mission.

If you had a W10 Plat escort, you could call in a krogran riding a dinosaur once a day to buy you time. Or for assassination missions, call on your Drell hitman you recruited in SP.

I'd say have these swap out your consumables, so say biotic artillery would replace rockets, and would last for one game, 90 second cooldown between firing.

Anyone have any advice as to which shotguns are best to get the Mastery? My manifest:
