Man, what a lazy operation. The numbers are less than the last promote one. Oh well, I'll take any excuse I can to fart around with low level guys on bronze.

waah posted:I unlocked the N7 Paladin last night and I like it a lot, problem is well on gold I seem to never have a very high score. I mean to the point where I am lagging behind by like 20/30k. I know score really doesn't matter but it makes me feel like I am not pulling my weight. I have my powers setup like on page 2 .... Energy drain 6, snap freeze 6, paladin passive 6, and ice shield. I tried with the piranha, but I always end up on huge maps with that and I can't get ultra rares to drop to save my life. The Paladin is meant to be an agressive debuff class. The effective range of the pirahna is about the same range as snap freeze with the range evolution. I personally use the same setup, with snap freeze set for range max armor weakening and the ice shield. Those two debuffs stack on each other and will lead to any boss mobs being cut to shreds with focus fire, or even just you with a pirahna. If you can stand youtube commentary, check out xcalizorz meet the paladin video. I thought the class sucked as well until I saw you really have to get up close to your enemies.

I usually play a bronze after a promotion to give my guys a few skills. From level 12 or so on up I usually play gold and a few bronze matches after reaching level 20 is good stress relief, things just die so quick and the games are very quick and relaxing. Though in the last week I've just been starting silver lobbies for promoted level 1 characters and just waiting for people to join the third wave or so. Better credits that way and I can still hold my own just fine.

I sat in an empty gold lobby for 15 minutes waiting until I just said gently caress it and went ahead with no consumables used or anything. Got Cerberus on Vancouver and made it to wave 7 without anyone joining. Waited some more, started another game. Of all the luck, I got Geth White. Was filled up by wave 3. Needless to say, my new friends didn't stick around when they got back to the lobby and saw the settings.

I got dragged from the landing zone to the camping balcony on FB Goddess by a banshee as a host RIP Next game wave 10 disconnect. I like (translation : hate) how the game will record your level 4 ammo and med-gels as being used on the fly but it's too much to ask for to give you your credits that way.

Here's a solo operation if I've ever seen one. Not even a random bronze would work because newbies poo poo their pants and rocket the first prime or atlas they see on wave 4.

Rick posted:I'll let you know how it works if I ever unlock that character, but since they added gold equipment that's pretty much all I get now (and not the good stuff like grenade increases or whatever). You should have messaged me last night! I was doing solo gold runs against geth on glacier all night and you could have just hidden in a corner or something and watched me and gotten credit for the operation. Solo gold against Geth is trivial with a Reegar Kroguard and some cyclonic modulators. Just ignore the primes and take out all the little guys to deplete the spawn budget. The only tricky part will be if you get assassination objectives, the VIP primes with extra armor are pretty tough. But as a tradeoff, escort and king of the hill objectives are actually easier. To put it one way, I've soloed and carried pubbies who score < 10000 points, and soloing is easier.

I've had 255 ammo for ages so I decided to make a drell adept and take it out for a spin. Fun as poo poo, grenade capacity 5 makes you a beast. Even though half the games I played with it was geth gold I really didn't feel the supposed squishiness of the class. The fast movement speed means you're dodging alot of the stuff coming your way or ducking out of enemies lines of sight faster than they can process. In one of those games, I saw a guy get disconnected 30 seconds before extraction

Elotana posted:I think you're confusing "non-optimal" with "unusable" Maybe. Since the game has been giving me crusaders in every other pack I've been trying my best to find a use for it. Best thing I can find for it is as a sidearm on destroyers and demolishers. Given that my preferred class is a Batarian Soldier with a Wraith, I do have a soft spot for less than top tier loadouts.

Hurricane 3. In honor of that my Kroguard slaughtered a couple hundred geth. Not using the new gun, but that's a small quibble. Wraith buffs make me happy, but knowing my luck they'll probably reduce the damage and make it lighter or something.

Lagomorphic posted:I seriously doubt it. I never see anyone use the Wrath and they seem to base these balance decisions mainly on the weapon usage stats they collect. Which is why the massively overrated Carnifex got a nerf this week and the Talon (the best gun in the game) got a buff. If that's how they do it, I'm probably single handedly responsible for it never getting buffed. I use that gun all the time. Although it's been a good 4 months since I've so much as touched the Carnifex, so I'm somewhat of an outlier.

I love most everything. Singularity might be worth picking up now, and extra extraction credits are awesome. The rest I'm putting a 33% rate of stuff actually working. And why on earth are they making geth even harder? I know it's intended for farming, but are they seriously trying to end Unknown/Unknown matches forever too?

Challenges are great. One reason I kept playing Modern Warfare 2 way longer than I should have was doing dumb challenges to unlock titles and stuff. I hope that there's unique challenges besides just getting point with guns and stuff.

The patch has done some good work but something about health gate is off now. Before you could count on attacks taking you down to a sliver of health with a few seconds of grace period to get in cover, but some attacks just take you down immediately now. I've noticed this most with phantom sword attacks (the regular ones, not the executions) and geth turrets. Best solution : More battlemasters on the battlefield, less demolishers and asari.

Very nice change to fire explosion. I'm taking my ABCarnaging krogan soldier out for a spin. The volus are fun as hell classes to play. Nimble little things that die when farted on but with awesome skills. You can drop nukes on enemies all day every day as an engineer, or send a ton of biotic orbs at your enemies for 45% extra damage.

Played a cerberus and Reaper gold before sleeping last night and it's probably just me but it seems like the bosses got toned down a bit. Banshees and Atlases were going down in just a couple clips, it seemed more like silver difficulty to me. Also played a collector gold yesterday, utter chaos. Got to full extraction, but after a while Scions and Praetorians gang up on you and its havoc with all those shockwaves and grenades. It's going to take me a while to really understand their mechanics.

If you're getting sick of stingy pubbies sitting on an arsenal of missiles and oceans of medigel, take a spin on bronze. You'll be amazed at how you never even see the red outlines of fallen players because they mash the medigel button as soon as they get in a bad spot. That first atlas on wave 6? Rocketed immediately. It reminds me of the naive days of launch when I did that same stuff myself.

FronzelNeekburm posted:http://social.bioware.com/n7hq Solo Mastery is probably the quickest (not easiest) title you can get. You have to only do 3 out of 4 of the challenges, so a platinum solo is not necessary. I got it last night. Krogan Vanguard with a Reegar can solo Gold Geth very easily, give it a shot sometime. In fact the geth sort of reach a critical mass on silver difficulty in regards to the amount of annoying stuff they throw at you, there was not too much a difference between the two difficulties.

In the interest of getting challenge points done, I solo'd gold reapers last night. I got about 2% of husks 3 . I guess the best thing to do if you want to farm them would be to just do the first 4 or 5 waves over and over with a turian ghost, where there are a ton of husks. Also silver has husks pretty consistently throughout all the waves, just make sure to only focus on husks to take advantage of the spawn budgets.

Big buffs to most sniper rifles. The black widow and Javelin got something like a 20% boost in damage, amongst others. The acolyte no longer needs to be charged. A new class, Krogan shaman came out last week, and tomorrow we'll get another. Hazard dagger and reactor are gone, giant and ghost have replaced them. I made the full balance change post a few pages back if you check post history.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but the Javelin and Graal are good weapons now. Originally I was going to take them out for challenges only, but I think they've found permanent spots on some of my loadouts. I guess the next overlooked gun I'll check out is the Kishock.

Cowcaster posted:Is there some kind of bug that makes enemies entering a stasis bubble to have a massive coronary and drop dead? Because I don't know what causes it but I do know it's an exceptionally satisfying way to kill a bunch of collector captains. I have seen this with cryo blast. Last night I went on a husk farm and on the back part of Rio where all the 3 grenade ammo boxes are, every cannibal and husk I hit with cryo blast started dying. It was glorious, like a Mr. Freeze roleplay event. On that note, if you want death guard and can't wait for it, just solo wave 1 of gold reapers over and over again, killing only husks. You'll get about 17k worth of husk points every 5 minutes. After a certain number are killed you'll stop receiving XP altogether, which is your signal to die and start over.

^I use it on a drell adept with a talon while stacking reaves on groups of enemies. Scoped headshots with +weapon damage bonus is nothing to scoff at. Joined a game to do the challenge. Four host migrations in that game. The last one I lost connection to. Then the next game I join hardlocks my PS3 on wave 9. Mercifully, it recorded the challenge done. Got a crusader VI.
