Surfingelectrode posted:Alright, for anyone that wants a copy of the King Crimson cover album, Guestroom Records in OKC has them and is doing mailorder. The cost is $30 shipped. I just wanted to confirm this is the case. I sent them an email a couple days ago and yesterday they gave me the paypal info, I paid, and they shipped it.

weirdojace posted:Now I realize I'm kinda just talking out of my rear end here, but it's what I've been putting together based on Wayne's behavior combined with the Lips' recent musical output. I don't really know anything, besides what I see on Twitter/etc, but your post sums up my feelings too. It's kind of a bummer, given all that he/they went through with Steven's addiction (and his brother's), as detailed in Fearless Freaks. I'm hoping things get back to (weirdly) normal and they make some good music again (haven't been too turned on by most of the collaborations over the last year or two).

I went for the UK lp for The Terror. It's 22 UKP shipped to the US (with discount code PRESALE at http://www.rise-music.co.uk/browse/search/flaming+lips/item/245938/Flaming-Lips-The-Terror.html). Figured it's a winner for the bonus 7", although I do hope it has zany-colored vinyl. $32.85 at current exchange rates.

I did get my Rise UK vinyl order of The Terror the other day. It is a nice heavy-duty package and the shiny cover is pretty sweet. It took me several minutes to find and dig out the CD version that was advertised as being included. I had hopes that the Side D megamix (whatever it's called) would be better, but oh well - the rest of the album is holding up well.

I'm curious about that, but I'm more excited about the Flaming Lips/Tame Impala crossover record (each doing three of the other band's songs, if I recall details correctly). I was a little bummed they didn't have them for sale at the Boston show. Apparently they'll be for-sale through the website too? Here's a Waynestagram.

The first song from the new Peace Sword EP is streaming. Sounds very encouraging to me. The list price for the record is apparently $18.98. Not too into the cover art for 7 Skies H3, but I see it's listed at $24.98 MSRP:quote:On vinyl for the first time ever. CPL593H posted:I don't really deal with the Cabbage Patch Kid bullshit anyway. I just call ahead and tell the store what I want and wait until the crowd dies down to pick it up. Aren't you in the Boston area? What is your preferred store to do that kinda thing, my good man? I've lived here for 15 years, but I still have a soft spot for Bull Moose from my olden times, so I don't have a big loyalty with one shop that I'd call on to do that for me. Bull Moose's free shipping for $25+ orders means I get quite a lot of stuff through them..

Apparently the Electric Wurms side-project album is coming out in a couple weeks. And a flexi-disc single was released today. I don't know how these things sound, but I at least have some enthusiasm for a Drozd-led prog-rock album.

This chat between Prince Paul and Wayne Coyne reminds me a little of the good ol' days of non-dickhead Wayne: http://www.talkhouse.com/wayne-coyne-flaming-lips-talks-prince-paul-talkhouse-music-podcast/quote:On the eve of the release of the Flaming Lips’ new record Oxzy Mlody, Wayne Coyne sat down with legendary hip-hop producer Prince Paul at the Sonos store in New York City and got deep on creativity and collaboration. Their talk takes on the Lips’ creative process, De La Soul’s copyright issues, the joy of life, scaring neighborhood kids and how Wayne gets blamed for turning Miley Cyrus into a drug addict. After their conversation, Wayne and Prince Paul answered questions from members of Battles, Bauhaus/Love and Rockets and Brookzill!
