Low mileage engines are $3k on car-part so not really a high-replacement item yet it seems. Higher mileage Hyundai 2.4s are $4500.

No, Uber based their business model on ripping off their drivers and having no recurring costs.

The self-driving cabs was/is just a story they tell investors to keep the money hose running.

Nissan has been doing variable compression since the 80s. They're doing well at keeping mechanics employed.

Speaking of feeding mechanics, you don't really need oil, right

You can't haul lumber in a modern pickup truck, the 3rd row seating took up all the usable bed space and also you might scratch the paint.

This is my literal argument for owning a kei truck. It’s as useful (if not more useful) than a full-size truck 90%+ of the time.

I’ve hauled motorcycles, firewood, hay, feed, garbage and recycling, etc. The low load height, folding sides and 6’4” bed make it super duper useful.

The main (practical) reason why I bought my '65 Econoline is that is has a 7' bed (over 8' with the tailgate down!) and 4' between the inner fenders, on a footprint the size of Mustang of the same era.

My neighbor has an '04 Silverado 2500 extended cab with an 8' bed, it's at least three feet longer.

I might consider a Kei truck if they're ever permitted in New Jersey.
