Terrible car stuff is not taking a pic of the 488 I saw at the gas station earlier, but dude was walking back to his car and didn't look like he wanted some rando paparazzing his ride.

Even with the Rhino Ramps I bought for undercarriage work that doesn't involve yanking a wheel off, I stick a pair of jackstands underneath in the highly unlikely event those ramps decide to buckle.

I borrowed one from a coworker to do my oil. Never again. It's like 100x more work, mess, and pain in the rear end than just opening the drain plug into a drain pan.

I mean, I prefer a drain plug - but those pumps are pretty great for sucking ATF out of slushboxes without drains.
They are also excellent in situations where you can't get under the engine (like 4-stroke Jetskis, for example).

Oh sure, they'd be useful for some jobs. Regular boring old oil changes not so much.

I'm sure that can be avoided with basic diligence such as a weight sensor like they use in the front passenger seat to disable the airbag when no one's there, but the other way around. Of course, this is Ford diligence we're counting on, lol

edit: also nice to see Ford hard at work erasing the climate change gains we've made. Just park it in the sun or have the new guy wipe them down, you really need to leave it idling all day with this poo poo? Taxpayers on the hook for all that gasoline too.

If Ford doesn’t call this “hotboxing” they missed an opportunity. And yes, this will be used to torture and extrajudicially execute people about 20 minutes after Ford deploys it.

I'm pretty sure the cop cars are idling all day anyway, at least from what I've seen. I've definitely had opportunities to steal a running cop car, but I also like staying employed and not getting shot so I've never tried it

a kid from my highschool was the son of a deceased cop and the local pd had a few officers that gave him ride-alongs and looked after him a bit while he was growing up. then one day, he put on his dad's uniform, went down to the station and stole a cop car for a day :v:

I had a coworker that was a fair amount older than I am that stole a shotgun from a cop car when he was a teenager, then almost killed his friend when they were playing with it. But luckily he was white and this was before everything had cameras so nothing every happened to him.

If I'm going to risk anything, it'd be stealing a 10mm MP5 from the car of a FBI agent like some guy did in SF.

Is that a challenge?
I forgot to disconnect the battery in my car when I last parked it 8 weeks ago, so I wasn't suprised to find it was stone dead when I went out just now.

What was a suprise was that the battery moved when I put a wrench on it, and on closer inspection not only is it not held down in any way, it's not even a battery for my car. Shame on me, this is the third time I've bought a car with the wrong battery in 11 years of driving, but the other two were a petrol battery in a diesel (:flaccid:) and a diesel battery in a petrol (:supaburn:) from the same model. This one doesn't fit any spec of my car, and is just flopping around in the battery box.
