So um, if I’m a brokebrained weirdo who wanted to watch old World Series of Poker events online, is there a sane way of doing so?

None of my usual sketchy sites for TV have them, YouTube and Dailymotion playlists are Swiss cheese from copyright takedowns, and most of the paid streaming services don’t let you search their catalog before subscribing. CBS All Access seems to have 2015 for some weird reason but nothing else.

I’m in Canada but with a VPN I can be somewhere else if necessary. I don’t mind paying :10bux: for a month of a streaming service or something. Just looking for something different to put on TV since it looks like I’ll be trapped in my apartment for months.

I was thinking the super glossy well produced ESPN shows I used to watch years ago, but this is cool too. Thanks!

I’m guessing they might be on ESPN+ but I can’t tell cause you have to subscribe to search. There’s also some site called PokerGo but everything I can find about it is people complaining about how terrible it is.

Maybe? Does anyone have a PokerGo sub that wouldn’t mind posting a paragraph about it?

All I’ve been able to find is a bunch of reddit posts complaining about PokerGo. Dunno how it could be that bad, could just be reddit complaining about everything.

Edit: Did a little more digging and this looks to be pretty much exactly what I want. I think I’ll drop the :10bux: and try it for a month. Thanks goons!

Tournies play a lot different than cash obviously, you have to play faster, and you want to shove a lot as the blinds get big. His range should be very wide here, although you didn't say anything about what he has been playing.

I think this is a pretty standard move against a cbet to pick up a big chunk of chips. If he calls he has you beat (unless you've been getting wild and he might call you light), but I would shove with a ton of poo poo here, especially if it's to take table lead. You even have a couple outs if he happens to have you dominated.

It would help to have more info such as reads on the villain and tournament status (in the money, on the bubble, final table, etc).

At a full table and if he’s UTG or UTG+1 and relatively straightforward then I think you can just fold AJo preflop. You’re not in the best shape against his early opening range given a standard player and he made it 3x which is relatively large for middle to later stages of a tournament (which I assume you are at given the size of the blinds).

As played I don’t really see a reason to do anything but call on the flop. The only real scare cards on the turn are a Q or K and even then you have the Ah so the Qh and Kh aren’t terrible. Also with the Ah you are blocking most of his flush draw combos so it’s more of a way ahead or way behind situation on the flop. Shoving flop allows him to fold hands you are beating and call with hands you are in bad shape against. By just calling, you can allow him to keep bluffing on the turn and you can win a bigger pot.

He had Kings and knocked me out. I was around 30/40th place out of 150 remaining from a 14,000 field, which makes me think is even more reason to fold since i'm not doing too bad. I didn't have any particular read on him. So yeah I think in a similar position in the future I would just fold pre-flop.

So am I correct in understanding that if I live in the USA, and not one of the four legal online poker states, that the WSOP app is probably the closest I'm gonna get to "legit" online poker for now? It's pretty fun but if there's better competition I can access, I want in.

Been using Pokerrrr with our group and just keeping track on Excel for the cash games and settling when people get too far in the hole.

Its relatively cheap to host games and they seem to have fixed the connectivity issues they had a few weeks ago.

Huh now that I think of it...maybe I should try to convince my group to all buy tabletop simulator, since we could just do any game we want with that...I doubt any software would come with badugi, razz, 5 card high low draw, and whatever else we want to play.

I'm trying to get back in to poker after a long break, is this really a standard fold preflop? It sucks that he made it 3x then just bombs the flop but i can't imagine doing anything other than call/call here.

flatting this type of hand vs a tight utg range especially is going to be very not good. this flop is a good example of why. we have a clean tptk on a somewhat drawy board and we're still not sure if we can get money in.

plus all the times we get squeezed pre and cant even get to flop anyway.

How tight does his range have to be for AJo in position to be a bad call here?

Also I was assuming 6 max which might be wrong but even 9 handed I don't think you can just fold.

I guess im still so aggressive from all those stt super turbos. Jamming over a cbet to chip up 30% has to be +EV unless his range is very tight. Folding pre is not. Call/fold is worse.

Low stakes tournament 6 hands in around 100bb stacks.

utg who has open shoved 3/5 of the hands and had it fold round open shoves again.

I have AQ utg+1 is calling ok here with 7 behind? Super low stakes so i don't care that much if it's pretty thin, it might be a snap call for all I know.
