I'm considering going on a pretty decent fap hiatus and commence wailing on that sucker/read Halo 4 previews shortly before 4 comes out and hopefully trigger some sort of never before experienced nostalgia trip that puts me in an adolescent state thats just long enough to re experience the beauty of exploring the Halo universe for the 1st time again. Good luck, Chief.

InfinEight posted:For better or for worse, Anniversary isn't really a remake since all they did was overlay a new graphics engine on the original game. I agree it's definitely a dated game but it's still a ton of fun and I'm glad I got it as an excuse to play it again. I played Anniversary awhile back and had fun with it too. I did have a bit of rose-tinted glasses with it though. I forgot how repetitive Assault on the Control Room is. I only remembered the outdoor parts and driving the cool tank. I didn't remember the endless interior sections that featured the same drat room with slight variations to it. The Library was less of a slog than that level.

Is launching Halo Waypoint from Halo 4 screwy for anybody else? I've tried it twice and both times the screen goes black and the disc drive whirs a bunch and nothing ever happens. Oh yeah, game is incredible

FishBulb posted:The sticky launcher is definitely my favorite new gun so far to use. I mean, the Incinerator Cannon is a monster and the Rail Gun is really powerful and stuff but the Sticky launcher is hilarious and nobody seems to know how it works and stuff. I've yet to try it in multi as I've yet to play multi, but I had so much fun with it in the campaign.

RBA Starblade posted:I was trying to figure out why melee was so much harder now and it hit me that the energy sword and punching don't lock on anymore; you don't rush forward a little after a guy if they're moving, which is pretty annoying. The missions with the Forerunner enemies are the worst. The Knights seem to be a way bigger pain in the rear end than they ever were in the campaign.

RBA Starblade posted:I haven't done the campaign yet but I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you're given weapons that aren't the suppressor and boltshot because they do absolutely nothing to the flying guys. Now there are twenty of them. Yeah that mission is bullshit and I died a bunch. It gets worse from there IMO. I thought the same thing about it being balanced for no less than 2 or 3 people.

Man that grav lift on complex is so absurdly helpful, it really seems if you have a team of competent people on blue team its almost unfair, and I say this having been on both sides of an embarrassing loss. Its so close to red teams flag.

So what's the plan for Spartan Ops? I know the next episode won't be out until January, so are they going to run through the weeks again or are we stuck on week 5 for awhile? I hope not the latter
