Just secured a preorder for the regular model. I had no idea the Premiums would move so fast! I won't get my hands on it till Christmas, so let's hope ZombiU comes out by then.

So is Assasians Creed 3 coming out on WiiU earlier then other consoles? Because its on all the Nov. 18th lists but comes out on the 30th for other consoles. If so this fact needs to be advertised more. Not only shows WiiU is getting "serious" or "hardcore" whatever you want to call them games, but with some advantage.

Way to make my choice of single Wii U game for Christmas harder, you dick. :argh:

Why are home console graphics so much more important to developers, publishers, and the consumer when compared to portables?

For all intents and purposes a 3DS is equivalent to a Dreamcast while the Vita is somewhere between a PS2 and a PS3 (probably closer to the latter) and yet the 3DS is trouncing the Vita in terms of game support and sales.

Without getting into anayltics, let me put it this way: Vita ain't got no games yo.

My metric is always "Can I justify the cost of the console with an equal cost in games?" and Wii U might be the first time that metric has been met at launch instead of having to factor in future games that I know are coming anyway. I'm definitely in for NSMBU and Darksiders 2, probably going to get Sonic All Stars Racing, maybe ZombiU, and The Wonderful 101 will be coming later in the launch window. That's $220-280 worth of the console right there, and we know there'll be a "proper" 3D Mario at some point, at least one Zelda, a Smash Bros and Mario Kart...

Let's not forget Monster Hunter in March!

Something I am legitimately terrified of is Namco reporting a year from now that they're having too many disagreements with Sakurai over the competitive/online aspects of the future Smash Bros.

Sakurai actually said that online rankings are only for "certain kinds of people" so he decided not to include them at all since it would make it "less fun for everyone else." He made similar arguments for removing other competitive aspects from previous smash bros. games.

I'd be legitimately terrified if tournament Smash players' dick-waving were officially sanctioned.

Do leaderboards always terrify you? Who cares if other people have a higher rank on an online leaderboard according to arbitrarily set standards? That second part isn't directed specifically at you, I just think Sakurai's way of thinking may hold him back from making a game that really can appeal to many people.

Leaderboards don't terrify me or anything, but I just don't see the lack thereof as something that's crippling Smash. It'd be nice, I guess, but I don't think it improve the game at all.

So all you need is an SD card and the respective transfer apps on the Wii and the Wii U. Surprisingly simple.

It's also been mentioned that purchases can be shared by all the accounts on that system, so I presume the same would be true for this stuff.

Same here, first-time-scribbler. I can tell my brain just isn't wired to play this game - I was in the fire station, and the alarm on the first floor didn't work. So I spawned a generator, and two wires, and connected them to it. No dice. Then I added the adjective "working" to "fire alarm" and got a starite fragment.

Then I went to the subway, where Augustus Gloop apparently wants candy but the vending machine is empty. I spawned a "stock man" thinking it would create a guy with candy to fill the machine. It spawned a cowboy (think "cattle stock yard"), but I figured maybe I can adjective him into a "Candy Stock Man" and he'll get a pallet of candy to fill the machine. NOPE!

It turned him into a giant piece of candy, which Augustus Gloop happily wolfed down in one go.

That sounds absolutely glorious.
