Friend got a Walmart order in for me, "Arrives by Mon., Nov 26" Chaltab posted:What are the current rumors? Even to be proportional to the difference between Wii and the rest of 7th gen, they'd have to have at least 5GB. At that point it's diminishing returns because no game yet created has used that much RAM, even on PCs where configurations with 16GB are common on high-end gaming machines. Whatever the case the Wii U will be out in two months while the others won't be out for another year+ and ultimately nothing is actually confirmed about them at this point, so I'm not caring too much about those right now. Either way the Nintendo system is default for me for Nintendo stuff, and hopefully better Japanese support a la Platinum this time around. Worst case I buy another system again, which could be a while cause I'm weird. I didn't get a 360 until late 2009 I think, that was pretty much for Trials HD when the 360 dropped to $199. Most of my 360 library is Sega arcade games and Cave shooters, then Platinum, Capcom, and a few other outliers. Bombadilillo posted:Console architecture really inst comparable to a pc setup. Would it really bump a price up 100-200$ to double the ram? Is the ram used here that special? I know the edram is. I just don't get it. So yeah, it's basically running on Wii tech from 2009 with a few HD bells and whistles added. Sonic Racing interview: http://www.nintendo-gamer.net/2012/10/04/interview-sonic-all-stars-racing-transformed-on-wii-u/ Other than the map and off TV mode for the gamepad, there's rear view, weapon cam, or opponent cam if you want to see what someone else is seeing. For local multi, other than the 5 player splitscreen+gamepad racing, there's also two asymmetric modes added for the Wii U version: quote:We’ve got the Shinobi mode where you’re Joe Musashi from Shinobi and you’ve got the GamePad, and you can see where everyone else is with little arrows round your screen but everyone else [playing on the TV] can’t see you. Well, they can see you but they don’t know where you are [there are no arrows]. You have to basically smash into them, and if you smash into them they become a Shinobi too. Then you, as the master Shinobi, can tap on one of the remaining players’ heads, and when you do that a big red arrow appears above them.

Recent wacky rumors from skimming NeoGAF's Wii U thread: Someone cryptically hinting at RE6 and Capcom exclusives or RE6 w/exclusives depending on how you read it, "RE6 Capcom exclusives barring changes". He hasn't been an obvious bullshitter in the past and seemed level headed, so who knows with that one (particularly since it sounds reasonably in line with how Capcom does things anyway). And someone on LinkedIn apparently leaked something, the profile is edited now I guess, but according to that thread it used to say: "Working for Straight Right on a short term contract, porting a triple-A Square Enix game to the yet-to-be-released Wii U platform." This has a bit more to it since Straight Right's CEO has mentioned working on other stuff before: quote:Eurogamer - Sept 7 quote:So many secrets, each more secret than the next.
