Hopefully, this will get all your books better coverage in searches and also start attracting more visitors to the site. Also, now is the time to let me know if you have any books for sale during the holidays. I will make a listing as well as replace the current "Campaign" slider books. I know it's a little ways off, but I'd like to start Dec. 1 or so.

This is awesome and exactly what I've been looking for! The author in me loves the thought of getting the word out about my titles. The reader in me can't wait to pick up some good new books. I've already posted one title, and as soon as it's approved (so I know I did it right), I'll post my other titles. Thanks for doing this, guys!

I have taken down the Campaigns slider until people submit their books that are going to be on sale or discounted. It might be too much work or hard to time for books that are on sale just for a day or something anyway. That leaves another slider to sort of promote books. Let me know if you want your books there and don't have time to make a big banner for the top slider. That said, I'm going to add a menu item for books being discounted or given away during the holidays. I should have this up after Thanksgiving weekend. To get your book listed right away, you can just comment on the post, and then I'll include it in the main listing as soon as I see it. I'll also update on Facebook when this stuff goes up!

Just a little heads up from our hosting provider that they are upgrading the server hardware on Friday so it should be down for 15-20 minutes sometime between 12:01AM and 7AM CST (06:01 - 13:00GMT). I assume they mean tonight as in Friday morning.

Goonreads has a pretty eclectic mix of great writers and not-so-serious ones. What else would you expect from SA? The OP even mentions that, and I don't know anyone at the site (and there are nearly 85 posters now) who takes themselves that seriously, so the trolling is just moot and doesn't add anything to this discussion. I'm just asking that we keep this thread on track. Thanks.

We just got our 74th book posted, and I know of one more that will be there by the end of the month. Maybe we should do something special for the author of the 100th book posted at Goonreads? A goon review, plat, or freebie Smashword code on a book of their choosing? I don't know but am open to ideas.

I just sent out a survey to the contributors at Goonreads (of which there are 95 now). Check your spam mail if you didn't get the link. I've already gotten some useful feedback about the site, including some ways to improve it. Please don't be afraid to post in this thread if you have suggestions. Or even just to post a link to a book you've posted or to ask questions. Also, we don't really need this project to be stymied by trolls. I'd suggest reporting them, ignoring them, and moving on. I've updated the OP with the caveat that we acknowledge and expect authors from a site such as Something Awful to greatly vary in many ways, including what and why they write. You basically see the same sort of breakdown at any other place that lists books without censorship, but still with some guidelines. Not only are there thousands of people at SA but there are both a whole lot of erotica authors who are out for fun and profit, quite a few more literary types who are also successful, some awesome authors who are writing on some traditionally goon type subjects, and a smattering of authors who are still learning about covers, writing books, and so on. All these authors are welcome at Goonreads, and we're constantly trying to figure out (with tags, genres, promotions, etc.) how to best showcase books and authors. This is an ongoing feat, and it's up to the contributors to decide how things will be.
