So, you lost 80 lbs. Did you:
A) work-out consistently
B) get stressed out about your wife's infidelity
C) do cocaine binges & 3 ways
D) do meth binges & 3 ways

I gotta give it up to Becki in this situation. Taking the meat for her man then taking the heat for her man. A truely good wife.

Jerry is such a lying scumbag. It's pathetic, the truth is a completely fine story that is actually relatable and interesting. It just so happens that the truth makes Jerry feel embarrassed, so he blames his wife like daddy taught him.

A very important discussion in the pages of Persuasion this week. Sure, Donald Trump's a criminal, but should we really DO anything about that?

https://www.persuasion.community/p/lock-him-up

quote:

OK, someone is sure to say, we won’t prosecute defeated politicians for “acts of state,” including those that are criminal in nature. But surely the same argument doesn’t apply to the more common crimes that you and I would never get away with—crimes for which ordinary Americans are sent to prison all the time. How can it be just to give a pass to the political bigwigs?

The answer is as stark as it is simple: It isn’t just. But it is the price we pay for keeping the stakes in the democratic struggle for power at a level that does not threaten the survival of the democratic system. We want people fighting for office and for the policies they believe in; we don’t want people fighting for their life or their liberty. When political leaders do bad things, elections, not prosecutions, are the appropriate remedy.

Ornstein's counter-point amounts to, "Are you loving serious with this poo poo?", though put in a more genteel manner. It's amazing to me that this is still a cognizable position: after watching Nixon, followed by Reagan, followed by both Bushes, followed by Trump, how is it not obvious that immunizing criminal conduct among the most powerful people in our society is not a good idea?

I love things like this because it shows how short-sighted republicans have become. "Yes he's CRAZY but he's mostly doing what we like, what could go wrong?" Is such a ignorant way to operate. They really can't comprehend that we aren't digging out of this out.

Sounds like choosing a guy who's going to return us to the pre-Trump status quo (that led to Trump) because he's most "electable". This stupidity runs both ways it's just Republicans are stupid AND evil.

I was curious about this claim so I looked it up. Seems like it came from the Heritage Foundation. Some of it, as I suspected, comes from voter registration fraud which is not as big a deal as voter fraud. And, they are also including instances where someone paid someone else to vote for them. (as in cast a ballot voting for them, not voting in their stead)

While these are issues, a lot of the cases don't really fit the rights current narrative Trump is parading around of Democrats stealing elections

You think reality is a circle of salt around my brain keeping witches out?
On Tuesday's Mark Levin show, at the top of the hour, he said that he had a shocking story about how Antifa is now sweeping into Small-Town USA, and the leftist-Marxist Mainstream Media refused to share it.

The story the account of an anonymous mid-50's radio talk show host, who was out on a date with his girlfriend. They were at a restaurant, but then a half-dozen BLM Thugs showed up and started demanding everyone raise their fist. The right wing radio host refused to do so and left the restaurant, telling the restaurant owner that he would never eat there again, presumably because he thought that the restaurant owner was in cahoots with them. He was then followed down an alley by four of the all-black wearing domestic terrorists. Telling his girlfriend to flee - he had a "foot issue" you see, so he couldn't run - he stood his ground and was quickly surrounded by the Thugs, who yelled at him to either raise his fist in solidarity with BLM, or grovel on the ground and apologize for his whiteness. The radio talk show host tried using his gift of gab to calmly refuse the demands of the Thugs, but of course they did not listen. The first thug swung a pipe at him, but he deftly dodged under it and punched him in the throat. He then took out all of the thugs, dodging all of their attacks and swiftly incapacitating them with precision blows. The thugs were on the ground, all of them crying, as he left the alley and called for a police officer. By the time the police showed up, though, all of the thugs had scattered and there was no sign of them. So, as you can see, the threat to small communities is now undeniable, and we need to treat BLM as a terrorist organization to stop it.

I, uh, think there's a reason why that story hasn't exactly been a splash in the mainstream media, Mark.

To say that they were 'allied' with the Nazis is an excessively stupid thing to say though. Especially since they were the first to be sent to the camps as soon as the Nazis took over.

It's a little more understandable if you know that the SPD government in 1919 enlisted right-wing militias to murder communists in the street, so ya know it's not exactly unreasonable to field your own candidate if you're given the choice between two candidates who agree that murdering you is good

I tell you Laura, the tunnel to the homosexual revolution is lubed up and ready for entry, there's pounding on the back door, and and it's steadily pushing its way through all resistance as America stretches open to accommodate the girth of the changes working their way deep inside, and just as soon as we're ready they're gonna start jackhammering and they're not gonna stop until this country is filled and overflowing, and we collapse together, exhausted and ashamed but happy and fully satisfied.

Cuties is about how it sucks to try and grow up as a normal kid when you are part of a dance troupe. Netflix made the American version of the poster pedobait, while the French version has the kids doing kids stuff.

Wanderer
Nov 5, 2006

our every move is the new tradition
Cuties was made by a French-Senegalese woman about how loving weird it is that dance culture is so sexualized, especially when it involves young girls. There are a lot of good interviews with her about her thought process there.

So naturally, Netflix grabbed the distribution rights and handed the marketing job for it over to someone who had not seen the movie, and apparently decided it was Bring It On for eleven-year-olds. Even the autoplay trailer on the services focuses on young girls doing creepily adult dance moves, rather than the culture clash story/active indictment that the movie is actually meant to be.

I forget, who is the guy that tweeted out something akin to "If coronavirus deaths in the US end up being under 200000, can we all agree Trump is the best President ever?", back when we either hadn't hit 100k yet or people were seeing a slowdown? He might have deleted the tweet since then but it would be interesting if he hadn't.
