Back when I had to drive around with my parents conservative radio was constantly on so now my brain has been permanently rewired that whenever I hear or read Hannity's name I immediately get the "Freedom Ring" song stuck in my head. He was playing that like every commercial break eight years after 9/11 and I have no idea what a song about someone's mom burning down their house to kill herself and her abusive husband has to do with AMERICA but whatever.

Fox News seems pretty untouchable but adding in the "didn't have the character to publicly issue the apology we made up" character slam doesn't seem like a good idea.

I wish there was more of an effort to teach that stuff. I personally learned about the marginal tax rates on this forum back in 2005 or so but never had it really explained before. My family and half my co workers who are mostly all college educated or earn decent salaries don't understand it some of which have been paying taxes for forty years. I have no idea why it seems like there's no movement to dispel the ridiculous "earn more but get less because of taxes" lie that's really prevalent.

I mean I understand why conservatives propagate the notion that increased upper income tax brackets hurt people that barely reach them, but it doesn't seem like any realy voices on the left ever touch it when it should taught on PBS kids shows.

Yeah I got to hear over Christmas how Hillary's injury was in order to avoid Benghazi hearings so that she will be clean for the 2016 election. I asked how she is going to pull that for the next four years if Benghazi actually is a Big Deal but whatever. I feel sad that people still think there's some shadowy Obama/Hillary motive that they did something bad there but they can't explain what that possibly could be since they were hammered so hard that it was A Thing during the election and can't turn it off.

Seriously you'd think they would have been smart enough to put the incomes those people make in little footers with asterisks next to the pictures so that it wasn't immediately obvious how ludicrously entitled the wealthy people in this country are and how absolutely removed from the situation that the majority of people live in. Yeah I agree as well that I can find sympathy for people, especially minors caught up in our justice system even though they deserve punishment (and rehabilitation but I'm not confident that will occur). The most offensive thing to me were the twitter/tumbler/facebook comments inferring that if the girl didn't get drunk, the boys wouldn't have been put in a situation where they would commit a crime which is outrageous. Honestly the entire ordeal should be a wake up call for teaching people how to behave and not get caught up in this kind of social mind set where they think it's their right to commit these acts and egg each other on. I can kind of see that these two kids are victims of the culture that encourages this behavior (and then covers for it afterwards making it seem even more acceptable) but the fault ultimately lies with them and I don't think that's what the cable news are really getting at and the real true victim is the girl that was abused.

If the GOP can just prove this the next step is impeachment since there's really nothing else they can get Obama on. I don't think what actually happened at Benghazi or what the State department did after or even what the GOP thinks happened matters. This entire affair is just an excuse to act outraged and try and create a "where there's smoke there's fire" situation so the base can be riled up in anger which is what their base does over everything and to deflect attention away from the poo poo show for a job Congress is doing on everything. I'm not sure how much this will actually help people since it doesn't sound like anyone not already pissed about voter fraud and Obamaphones cares about it at all. Maybe after two years of complaining they are not getting the answers to questions they aren't asking while while Fox News and every conservative political cartoonist and editorial writer complains that the media isn't covering it that might change so I guess we'll see.
