The pod race would be doable with practical effects, it'd just have to be shot differently. That said, the pod racing ruled, and I still can't believe GoG.com doesn't have Episode I: Racer yet.

He definitely started down the dark path when Vader threatens his sister and he gives into his anger and lashes out. Thankfully once he's beat daddy down and cut off his hand, he's able to see the parallels and what is happening and steps off the dark path. So Yoda is wrong.

To a large extent. Mas Ameda is still Grand Vizier of the Empire and Rebels features a Rodian Imperial techinician with Lobot-style implants as a plot point. ISB Agent Kallus was a Chiss at one point during his design concepts. Also, all the Inquisitors that have shown up so far are aliens. That said all the imperial Military officers we've seen so far are Human or near enough to human (Aresko might've been Umbaran given how gaunt, pale, and chiseled he was). There are women stormtroopers featured in a few of the new materials though, as well as a woman who goes from newly mined Star Destroyer Captain in A New Dawn (10 years before ANH) to commanding a Super Star Destroyer sometime after Endor, so at the very least the Sexism angle is dead. The novels seem to imply its less about species and more about location. If you're a core worlder, you're good, if you're a rimworlder, you're bad.
